With the extension of the state of emergency until 31 December 2021, the deadlines for driving qualifications are also extended (pink sheets, CQC and license renewals). A "breath of fresh air for driving schools", according to Paolo Colangelo, president of Confarca, an Italian confederation that represents over 2,500 agencies, consulting firms and driving schools.
"While waiting to read the definitive text of the ministerial decree, we can still declare ourselves satisfied", comments the president of the confederation. "The extension will solve problems in the provinces with delays in practical exams, but the time has come to start a structural reform with new staff hires" warns Colangelo.
"We cannot always hope for extensions and postponements to heal an anomaly that has been going on for years and that the Covid-19 emergency has only accentuated. We hope that the Recovery found can also be invested in resolving the atavistic issues that concern the Civil Motorization ".
Furthermore, with the introduction of the Greenpass starting from 5 August, Colangelo hopes that "interpersonal distances can also be reduced in the classrooms of driving schools and thus return to the number of students prior to the pandemic".
"There are many drivers who still have to renew the CQC and, to date, we have worked with 50% of the seats available in the classroom", concludes the president of Confarca.
