A 36-year-old man fell asleep at the wheel on Tuesday evening, drunk, on the ring road that circles Toulouse, causing an unusual slowdown in the evening.
At around 11 p.m., police officers on a night patrol approached the vehicle, straddling the middle lane and the fastest lane, believing the driver to have been unwell.
When they opened the door, the man woke up.
A blood alcohol test revealed the presence of 1.66 g of alcohol per liter of blood, more than three times the authorized limit.
Several bottles of alcohol were found in his car.
Despite his protests, he was taken to the Toulouse central police station, without being taken care of by the firefighters who had been called.
He was taken into custody.
Far from stopping there, the man known to the police services then degraded the CCTV camera of his cell, on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday.
