The battle between social networks is intensifying:

TikTok is testing a new feature - TikTok Stories, which will allow users to post stories that will disappear from the platform after 24 hours - just like on Snapchat, Instagram and Facebook.

The new feature was recognized by Matt Navarra, a social media consultant, and from the photos he posted, it can be seen that unlike the competitors that display the stories at the top of the screen, Tiktok integrates the stories in a sidebar, with the Create button at the top.

"We are always thinking of new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the in-app experience," the company said in response to the Engadget website.

"We are currently experimenting with new ways to give creators more formats for uploading their creative ideas to the Tiktok community."

In the near future a limited number of accounts around the world will receive the new feature as part of the company's trial, and it is not yet known if it will reach all users.

Will you succeed somewhere that Twitter has failed?

Last Tuesday, after less than a year, Twitter finally shut down Fleets - its version of stories that disappear after 24 hours.

"We had high hopes from the Fleets, but it's time to say goodbye and fly with other ideas," the social network said.

According to a post on the company's blog, since its official launch in November 2020 the use of the feature has been limited.

Now, instead of the fleets that appeared at the top of the app, users will see the active audio rooms in Spaces - Twitter's version of the Clubhouse voice chat app.
