A dance teacher was indicted on Friday in Brest in particular for "rape and sexual assault committed on a minor by a person in authority", announced the prosecution on Friday evening.

The facts relate to "nine victims" and spread over a period running "between 2008 and December 2020", according to the press release.

Several of the victims have since become of legal age.

Placed in police custody on Wednesday, the man, aged 46 according to our colleagues from Ouest-France, is also indicted for "rape and sexual assault by a person abusing the authority conferred on him by his function" as well as " corruption of a minor ”.

He would have, according to Ouest-France, "abused his role as professor, presenting himself as a great master".

Faced with students to whom he repeated that they were "unique" and would become "great professional dancers", explains the daily, the alleged aggressor "convinced them to assume total physical and sexual freedom".

"Several unwanted pregnancies"

Some rapes and assaults "would have resulted in several unwanted pregnancies", affirms to Ouest-France Family Planning, "which assisted the victims throughout the procedure".

"These young women are now calling for justice to be done against (her) but also people who have closed their eyes or minimized their words and their experiences," continues the organization.

The prosecution requested the provisional detention of the accused, but the latter was finally "placed under judicial control by the judge of freedoms and detention" with "in particular the ban to appear in Finistère and to exercise any activity involving usual contact with minors, ”completes the press release.
