Behind the flood of electric models we are seeing now and those we are expected to see later this year and also into 2022 the penetration of Chinese brands is very noticeable.

More and more of them see Israel as a fertile ground for their experience outside the local market as a springboard to Europe.

The undermining of the power relations between them and the veteran automakers, with whom the vast majority of them have a business relationship in their home market already occurs when the transition to electric propulsion lowers one of the historical barriers of Chinese manufacturers - the need to meet stringent air pollution standards.

Three of these will start arriving in Israel under EV Motors, a new importer located in the Poleg industrial area in Netanya.

These are JAC (not to be confused with GAC) an electric car maker from China, LEVC the company that converted the production of the famous London taxi into a hybrid-electric car and the bus manufacturer ANKAI.

JAC

EV Motors will enter the private market through JAC.

A state-owned manufacturer, which is making its first steps outside the domestic market right now with a single model, later with two more and intriguing models and in longer-term plans talks about averaging a new model each year.

The first one already marketed is the ES2, it is a small crossover 413 cm long, 175 cm wide, 157 cm high and a wheelbase of 249 cm.

The trunk is also modest and stands at 250 liters.

So it is smaller than competitors like GAC GE3, MS ZS EV, Hyundai buys EV or Sers E3

The ES2 engine drives the front wheels and delivers 115 hp and 27 kg.

The declared range of 40 kWh batteries is modest and stands at 275 km.

Charging time from a household outlet is 8 hours and when charging in a direct current position it will be able to charge from an empty battery to 80 percent per hour.

The list of equipment is nice and the price is lower than other trams, NIS 132,500.

However, in the absence of any safety systems and with only two airbags - the private customer has nothing to look for.

JAC's future models are expected to appeal to a wider audience of private consumers.

The first of these is a crossover called ES4 with a declared range of 500 km, a number of finish levels, the highest of which include advanced safety systems. The price range is expected to be between 165 and 185 thousand shekels.

Later they will be joined by the IC5, a large family with a range Declared 530 km.

The price should be about 190,000 shekels.

Both cars come under incomplete standardization, so they are currently limited to the amount of 400 cars per year.

London is not waiting for her

So the weather here is not exactly London and in the field of etiquette we have where to aim, but for one thing you can feel a bit abroad soon - the famous London taxi, or as it is now called LEVC arrives in Israel. The

veteran manufacturer changed its production lines several years ago For electric, and it offers the taxi in a seating configuration of 6 passengers and a driver, with full wheelchair and guide dog accessibility. And allows it a range of 500 km between fillers.

The plan is to market the taxi with an unrivaled maintenance package in this area, with the car itself having a 5-year warranty or 300,000 km and the batteries having an 8-year warranty with no mileage limit.

The treatment interval is 40,000 kilometers and will be provided by the Dico Bosch network, which will provide support for all importer cars.

The taxi will be marketed in three trim levels, starting at NIS 270,000.

Alongside the taxi, the LEVC VN5 will market a modified version of its commercial vehicle, which also uses its propulsion arrangement.

The load capacity is 830 kg and it is suitable for driving for license holders B. The price of the VN5 will start at NIS 280,000.

In addition to these two brands, the importer will also be active in the electric bus market with the ANKAI brand, which manufactures vehicles that rely on European propulsion assemblies from Bosch, Siemens and ZF.

When its customers already include Afikim, Dan and Egged.

In the case of the buses, the service system will be based on that of Egged Garages.

In addition to marketing the cars, EV Motors has the franchise for an Israeli representation of SSE, which establishes charging infrastructure for electric vehicles that do not rely on the national electricity grid and is able to produce a charging model that relies on independent electricity generation from solar energy and gas engines.

The plan is to deploy a nationwide charging network with adjacent rest, work and recreation complexes.
