held this Wednesday a new edition of its virtual event
Unpacked 2021
that featured the new and innovative
Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Z Fold 3
cell phones
, which surprise once again for their design, with flexible screens as the main feature, and a number of improvements that differentiate it from its predecessors.
Just a year ago, this kind of smartphone with a flexible screen was seen as something inaccessible due to its high price, but Samsung is making a great commitment to this new category, introducing
important changes at the technological level and managing to reduce its manufacturing cost
, as they recognized.
Likewise, the world's leading cell phone manufacturer took for granted that there will be
significant growth in the folding market
in the coming years, whose sales tripled in 2021 compared to 2020. And for that reason, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be your bastion in the segment.
Galaxy Z Fold 3: the usual folding, improved
Far is that first Z Fold model in which the exterior screen was useless.
This panel, which now reaches 6.2 inches, is fully functional and has Super AMOLED technology and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
Now the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is
two phones in one
and the user can make the most of it both in the closed position and when it is unfolded, becoming a small 7.6-inch tablet (in dimensions of 12.8 x 15, 8 centimeters, 0.64 cm thick).

This terminal also
reduced the weight
compared to the previous version, with 271 grams (compared to 282 grams for the Z Fold 2) and has obtained the first IPX8 water resistance certification in a folding 'smartphone'.
In addition, it is not without power, since it mounts the
Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor
and has 12 GB of RAM, to which is added a 4,400 mAh battery to guarantee a full day of use.
Another of the great improvements is in its cameras.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 has a
triple main camera
with three sensors of 12 megapixels (MP) each.
It is an angle, a wide angle and a two-magnification optical zoom (which reaches 10x in digital).
In addition, it incorporates a 10 MP lens on the front screen and another 4 MP available when the phone is deployed.
These last two lenses, designed for selfies or video calls (although the format of this terminal allows the main camera to be used for these functions), are hidden under the panel, becoming the first folding with this technology.
Finally, Samsung showed during the broadcast that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be
compatible with a special S-Pen
, which can be purchased separately along with a special case.
Of course, unlike the digital pen used in the Note, this one does not work via Bluetooth, so its number of applications is significantly reduced.
The all-new Galxy Z Flip 3
Samsung's other launch is the Galaxy Z Flip 3, which folds down to 7.2 x 8.6 centimeters (1.6 cm thick) and reaches 6.7 inches when unfolded, displaying a Dinamic panel. AMOLED with an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The great challenge of this phone was to make an
exterior screen a little larger and more functional
, and it achieves it with a 1.9-inch panel (compared to the 1.1-inch of the previous model) that allows you to read notifications and interact with some apps , as is the case with Spotify.

With a weight of 183 grams, this is one of the most versatile Samsung phones and improves its folding technology so that the feeling when using it is unique.
Design plays a key role
in this device and the company also opted to increase the number of colors in which it is sold, including
lavender, cream, dark green and black
, in addition to three other shades that will be sold in a exclusive through the manufacturer's website: pink, white and gray.

The Z Flip 3 is also waterproof (IPX8) but, as with the Z Fold 3,
its resistance to dust is not certified
, since small pieces of sand -for example- could affect its folding system in the case. to enter through those small gaps in the hinge.
The mobile also has a 3,300 mAh battery, a fingerprint sensor on the side, a Qualcomm Sanpdragon 888 processor and 5G connectivity.
The price and arrival in the country
At the moment, the
Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3
will be available from August 27 worldwide, while in Argentina their landing will take place sometime in October.
As for the price, Samsung Argentina did not confirm it officially;
although he assured that its value will be
less than what can be achieved in the United States
and, in addition, it is adjusted to a "Exchange Plan" that is applied when you deliver your old device.
Worldwide, the teams will go on sale for $ 1,799 (Galaxy Z Fold 3) and $ 999 (Galaxy Z Flip 3).
