In 2006 when the first Qashqai was introduced it was one of the forerunners of the contemporary fashion of looking with and being without, square configuration, with a high seating position and assemblies of a standard passenger car - this formula that has since been replicated and perfected by almost every manufacturer in the world.

Now the third generation of this family is coming to Israel, when to its left and right, above and below it there are a variety of competitors who over the years have surpassed the original.

What equipped him to bring the customers home?

Addition to the overall length, to the wheelbase, to the height and more (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

So first of all the new Qashqai is bigger than the outgoing one, with 442.5 cm in length (addition of 3 cm), width of 183.5 cm (also here, another 3 cm), height of 162.5 cm (addition of 3.5 cm) and a slightly larger wheelbase, with another 1.9 cm to 266.6 cm.

The one that is still growing is the trunk which now features 504 in the basic finish level and 479 liters in the two higher finish levels.

The reduction in volume is due to the partition system for objects in the trunk.

The base is the latest incarnation of Nissan's CMF-C platform, which has been hardened and uses lighter materials like doors and an aluminum hood to save weight.

The paddle is in charge here of the 1.33-liter engine of the Renault-Nissan-Mercedes.

The engine, which comes in several power levels, delivers 156 hp and 27.5 kg (160 hp and 27.4 kg in the past), a continuous gearbox that connects it to the front wheels, replacing the clutch dual in the outgoing generation.

Performance improves slightly and acceleration to 100 km / h takes 9.2 seconds (9.9 seconds in the past) and the maximum speed is the same, 199 km / h.

Moving forward toward hybrid or rechargeable units the Nissan socket is not participating, at least not at this point.

The new Qashqai settles for a lightweight hybrid unit, which supports the electrical systems to bleed the engine for longer periods of time and helps propel the vehicle in slow glide, braking and provides a slight increase in torque when accelerating for a period of 20 seconds.

The hybrid version will be launched at the end of the first quarter of 2022, it is not clear if and when it will arrive here.

Qashqai will be marketed in three trim levels.

The entry-level version ACENTA TOP offers, among other things, an 8-inch multimedia screen with Apple and Android connectivity, a smart key, split climate control, a panoramic roof, control of the gearbox from the steering wheel and more.

Above it is the ACENTA TECH which adds an inch to the touch screen and wireless compatibility with Apple, additional air conditioning ports for the back seat, digital dashboard, 360 cameras and more.

The highest level of finish, the TEKNA adds wireless charging, a top view of the driving data on the windshield, electric direction for the driver's seat and an electric trunk door.

In the two highest levels of finish, the model can be ordered with a black paint for the roof.

Safety systems include 7 airbags (seventh between driver and passenger), automatic braking with pedestrian detection, adaptive cruise control, vehicle warning in "dead zone" including lane departure control, lane departure correction (the last two using brakes and no steering), traffic alert Crossing at the rear, detecting traffic signs, tracking lighting with the option of actively scattering the beam to prevent glare.

Prices

The new generation is getting more expensive (like everyone else ...) compared to the outgoing generation, but still ranks in the price range accepted for its group, between models like the Peugeot 3008, Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Karok and others.

The ACENTA entry version will cost NIS 160,000 (previously 147,000 for the entry-level version), the ACENTA TOP finish level will cost NIS 170,000 and the senior TEKNA finish level will cost NIS 180,000.
