After a long break of more than a year and a half following the Corona epidemic, an ACUM awards ceremony was held this evening (Tuesday) in the field of Hebrew singing, which took place at Cinema City Glilot. Yair buds off the evening and deer zig musically managed. In addition to artists, creators and members of many industry, honored the ceremony, Minister of culture and sport Hili Tropper and director Quentin Tarantino, groom of one of the winners - songwriter Mirit Shem-Ur.

name Or was awarded for lifetime achievement, And so is the musician Etty Ankry. They will receive 35,000 shekels each. It's hard not to admire the ability to express oneself, linguistic richness and phonetic intelligence in immortal pop anthems. "

Mirit, despite your great contribution to Israeli music, over the years you have often been referred to as "wife of" (Zvika Pick), "mother of" (Sharona and Daniela) and most recently in "mother-in-law" (Trentino, who came to the ceremony to pay your respects). Nice again to be honored for your own rights?

"I want to tell you that as a child I was my mother's daughter. This award is nice, it warms my heart especially because those who gave me the award are artists like me, who I do not know, like Yizhar Ashdot and Doron Medley. Nice to appreciate my work."

As someone who has signed huge pop anthems, do you see in your winning recognition of the pop genre? Dana International once said that the real deprived genre in the country is not oriental music but pop.

"Exactly. That's right. That's how it was until Zvika and I built our song on pure pop-rock 'n' roll. My huge influence is the puppetry. My generation grew up on rock 'n' roll, in the '50s with Cliff Richard and Elvis, and there was a thought - what the hell. "Shall we go back to 'Roosters'? But the audience welcomed us in the 1970s. We are the first generation in human history where the adults wanted to emulate the young."

Which of your hits are you particularly attached to?

"To sing 'Mary Lou'. Because I was influenced by the puppetry and I wanted to write a song about myself. It's awfully weird. "Know it! It's unbelievable! She guessed it!"

Which song of yours does your son-in-law especially like, Trentino?

"I do not know".

Is there a chance your song will appear in a Trentino movie?

"No. He will not do it. Because he takes to his films very familiar American songs. He can also take Spanish songs. But one hundred percent he will take a song by Daniela for his film."

You must be excited that he came to the ceremony to pay your respects.

"Obviously he's coming. He's getting a Lifetime Achievement Award in Rome in a month, so he also invited me to come."

So you said to your son-in-law - I come to your ceremony just because you came to my ceremony?

(Laughs) "Absolutely not. But look what's going on now - Sharona sent me a picture of her husband, he's from the Federman family."

The judges' reasons for choosing Bati Ankry state that she is "a huge role model and inspiration for women in general and creators in particular.

In June, Ankry canceled a women-only show at Zappa Jerusalem, following the ban on holding separate performances in public halls, just hours before the event. She sent a letter of apology, saying the repeal was done for fear of a lawsuit, and told the media she was opposed to the law. "This storm has flooded an important issue - religious women are not allowed to appear in public as they wish," Ankry told Walla! Culture, "This is a point that still needs to be clarified. But we have found places to perform."

On stage, too, Ankry referred to the storm of the cancellation of her performance. "Today my cry is a silent cry of a woman who wants to find her freedom within the walls of the house, and her walls of the house is the house of Israel. "I think it's feminism - that men should support shows they can't get to."

The celebrations of the 30th anniversary of your debut album, “See You in the Eyes,” planned for last year, have been postponed because of the corona. How do you look at this album in a three-decade perspective?

"I look at the beginning of my path in thanksgiving. I thank there for the right to create and sing within the people of Israel, in Hebrew, I think it is a right. I thank you for it."

For years you did not sing "Lolita", and close to the 30th anniversary of the album you changed the name of the song to "Redemption" and refined its lyrics.

Your kind of daughter said in an interview here 11 that she did not like it, and that the original song had already done its thing.

"True, she talked about the fact that when you write a song then you can leave the picture in the same place. But now my daughter already loves that change. It takes time to get used to the change. I have a conversation with my songs I sing, and I change them depending on where I am. Today".

Many in the industry have raised concerns about another locksmith.

What are your feelings?

"This situation, the stumbling block, is unpleasant, and puts the whole company under unnecessary pressure. I believe it will just pass."

This was not the only reference to the plague at the ceremony. "The win is very exciting and I am grateful for it, but it is not an easy time, I hope there will be no more closure," said Eden Hasson, who won the Composer of the Year Award, which was given to him on his birthday. "But if that happens, we have nothing but to come to terms with the situation. We have leadership that I think needs to be trusted. That everyone will take care of themselves."

What did you think of the Matti Caspi affair, which canceled all the shows he planned, said he would only appear after all the restrictions on the shows were removed and "I will not cooperate with dictatorship and fascism"?

"It's not my place to judge. It's his business, it's his preference. If he thinks it's the right thing for him and his audience - he should have fun. I think the crowd should be protected. People can be harmed, so it's worth keeping the guidelines."

The Corona also employed the host of the event, Yair Nitzani.

"I tried to think what the Woodstock Festival would have looked like in Corona," he said in the opening monologue, "and it did not seem to me that they would stand there under the guidance of up to ten people in one sexual act (...) the world went crazy, everything got mad here."

A special award from the ACUM board was also given to two radio people for their work in promoting and preserving Hebrew music: Gali Tzahal music editor Yoram Rotem and Dalit Ofer, a former Galgalatz director who currently works at 103fm radio. "Like all the good things that come as a surprise, this award also came as a surprise and is gratifying," Rotem told Walla! Culture, "We founded the 'Four Afternoons' program 41 years ago, and it is still broadcast, and in the last TGI poll we were chosen as the third program in the IDF in terms of listening percentage, so our listeners still like it."

Ofer

: "For me, this award is a very pleasant surprise . This is a surprise because you usually expect the creators to receive awards. I did not think there would be recognition and appreciation for those behind the scenes. It's pleasant, surprising, but in the end the big thanks are to the composers and performers and the songs. "

The world is going digital, estimates of hundreds of thousands already subscribed to Spotify and Apple Music. How do you preserve Israeli iron sheep assets and make them accessible to other generations in the age of streaming and statistics?

Ofer

: "Look, the nostalgia in Israeli music happens very quickly. The 1980s is nostalgia, the 1990s is nostalgia. There is what is called the preservation of the old things, and there is also the preservation of contemporary work, what to do. "Legislation will require certain percentages of the playback of these works, as well as the establishment of new platforms. Without broadcast channels and playback and preservation platforms it will be lost."

Rotem

: "We need music editors, who will adapt the songs to the right time, to the situation, to everything that happens around. According to all the polls, we are still relevant and I hope we will continue to do so for many more years. "

What do you think about the threat of closing the GLC? Which of the processes happening at the station bothers you?

Rotem

: "The processes are not in the station but outside the station. I hope they will let us continue to do the things we know how to do so well, and at least on the field we are responsible for there are no disagreements. Hope they let us continue because the work we know how to do."

Ofer

: "Look, I'm not in the IDF waves anymore, so I'm not really bothered. As for 'Four in the Afternoon', alas if anyone touches this child. That's all I say. "

For you, the program can continue outside the IDF waves and can the station be closed?

"I said and did not add. I'm talking about this child, 'four in the afternoon', this child is me. "

You avoided answering the question - should the GLC be closed or not?

"I do not want to answer that. When I left Gali Tzahal, part of my departure was a statement at the time. So what else do you want to hear from me? We are now in a very happy event, the IDF is having a difficult time, I have all kinds of thoughts that I keep to myself, this is not the place to express them. "

Dalit, I hope you do not shy away from this question either - Galgalatz has dropped sharply in the TGI surveys in recent years. As a former Galgalatz director, what do you think is the reason for this decline?

Ofer

: "Obviously I will dodge, it's since I left (laughs). I retired at the peak, peace and thanks. I love Galgalatz, I think she's a great station. At least when I left she was in good shape."

Rotem

: "IDF and Galgalatz wave stations are leading in the latest TGI survey, I look at the half full glass.

It is true that today there are different trends in listening, today you not only hear radio but hear more stations and more channels, today the competition is much greater than it was at the time.

And it is still gratifying that the IDF wave stations are "leading."

There are quite a few winning women in this ceremony, and this is encouraging news against the background of insufficient representation of musicians on the radio and at various musical events.

Ofer

: "True, but I mention again that there are fewer performers than performers, there are fewer singers. Is there a need for affirmative action? This is an issue that I am not sure is significant. Depending on what you want to represent, if you want to reflect a work then there are fewer works by women You want to make a positive preference, so you do not exactly reflect what you are doing. "

Tamir Bar at the ACUM Awards Ceremony (Photo: Niv Aharonson)

An award for this year's achievement on the album was given to the album "The Rise and Fall of Shem Tov HaAvi", which was led by Tamir Bar as part of the Public Broadcasting Corporation. "A lot of the work is getting some outside approval, that you do a spin, and that means for me that I can do more and think people will love, compared to once you just did and did not know if people would love," Tamir Bar told Walla! culture.

Is there a chance for the second part of "Father Shem Tov"?

"I do not think. I do not like to repeat myself. I do not like reruns. I like to innovate and be born again."

You said that when you started trotting, you hated that musical style.

"I may have felt this way at first, when the troupe started I did not understand it. I heard regular hip hop for many years, and suddenly in troupe a lot of people sound the same. It took me a while to get into the subtleties of this thing."

What did you learn from working with Asi Cohen in "A Wonderful Land"?

"Wow, full. I learned a lot about acting. I learned what you don't learn in twenty years of acting lessons. I just learned from everything he does, from what he defines as important, and from what he defines as unimportant. The best player in the country taught me acting."

Gary Eckstein's daughters receive the award in his name (Photo: Niv Aharonson)

A special award from the ACUM board was given to musician Gary Eckstein "for his great contribution to Israeli art and culture." Eckstein was unable to attend the ceremony due to his medical condition. Noga and his daughters Michal received the award on his behalf. Characteristic of him - thank you.

So tell him thanks for the huge contribution to music and life of rock and roll ", they said.

Other prizes awarded at the ceremony: Prize Song of the Year was awarded to" parties written and composed by Jasmin Muallem and Eyal David, an award for achievement in the year the author was awarded this year to musician Hanan Ben-Ari, a prize processor this year Awarded to Johnny Goldstein and the Discovery of the Year Award was given to Noga Erez, who did not attend the ceremony and was reported to be abroad, and an award from the ACUM board was presented this year to the Nacht Foundation "for her many contributions to promoting music and composers in Israel."
