At its hardware announcement event last night (Wednesday), which was all about engine warm-up ahead of the launch of Windows 11, Microsoft launched a host of new Surface PCs (we'll talk about them soon), but also launched a new generation for its smartphone, the Surface Duo 2. The Duo, similarly For Samsung's Z Fold, it's a book-like folding smartphone, except that in the Duo the screens are connected to each other on the spine, and are not flexible.
The second generation of the Duo, Surface Duo 2, shows some improvements over its predecessor: a fifth generation, a significant improvement in cameras and serious improvements in hardware. First the screens were enlarged - each side of the "book" is now 5.8-inch screens, which gives a full 8.3-inch display space, but with space between the screens. Each is an AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1344 by 1892 pixels.
One of the big falls of the first generation of the Duo was the camera, and this time Microsoft decided not to overlap: in the back was installed a triangular and modern photo array, with two 12-megapixel cameras (first and telephoto) and a 16-megapixel wide lens, to which is added a front camera, of course.

Another area where the first Duo did not excel was outdated hardware.
Not this time!
This time there are Qualcomm's latest generation Snapdragon 888 processors, 8GB of memory and as mentioned, fifth generation support.
The storage volumes will range from 128 to 512 GB, there is a fingerprint reader, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1 and even the charging socket is USB 3.2.
The Duo 2 of course has stereo speakers, a 4,500 mAh battery and it will come in two colors: black basalt and glacier white.
The price, the premium of the premium: $ 1,500, a hundred dollars more than its predecessor, and can be pre-ordered right now in the United States.

Computers and pens
And a word about computers - at the event, Microsoft refreshed its entire Surface line ahead of the launch of Windows 11, and even introduced a new son in the series: the Surface Laptop Studio, a powerful 14-inch computer with a 120 Hz screen, designed for graphic artists, editors and content creators, and a bit reminiscent The structure with the floating screen of the Concept D 7 for the Acer house.
It uses Intel's new H series, and you can also add an nVidia graphics processor for those who need it.
Price accordingly: Starting at $ 1,600.

Aside from that, the new Surface Pro 8 is the "biggest upgrade since Pro 3" according to Microsoft, with Intel's 11th generation processors, a 120 Hz screen and up to 32 GB of memory, and with a price tag starting at about $ 1,100.
The intriguing son is the Surface X, which runs on a processor that Microsoft presents as their processor as the fashion order, but at Techel's, it's an accelerated version of Qualcomm 8Cx - named SQ1 and SQ2.
The Surface X will start at a price level of $ 900, and finally, for those who want a two-in-one Surface computer but can't get their hands on it, there is the Surface Go 3 that starts at $ 400.
All new Surface PCs of course come with a cover keyboard for purchase separately and also a new stylus pen called the Surface Slim Pen 2, which not only has its own storage niche in the keyboard, it is also designed to respond to zero pressure and without delay, so the experience should be the same as a regular ink pen.
Definitely intriguing.
