In 2013, the captains of Delek Motors, an importer of BMW to Israel, decided to hold a special event for the brand's riders.

The inspiration came from the slogan "Make life a ride" that was formed in those days exactly to the philosophy of "riding as a way of life" of the Bavarian brand.

The event became an annual tradition until the Corona Crisis in 2020 stopped the carnival.

The year 2021 was marked in the global BMW as the year of Heritage (tradition) and Delek decided to take advantage of the momentum and return to pamper the customers as well.

Thus, in the early hours of last Friday, almost 500 customers of the brand met in Kfar Kedem, for a day of hiking and indulgences sponsored by the importer.

As before, the business begins with an experiential mingling session over breakfast in the pastoral landscape of the Jezreel Valley.

After a brief and matter-of-fact briefing, the group split into two hiking trails - a trail and a road led by Amit Yulevich and Eliko Aljem respectively.

A long, colorful and very diverse convoy of riders painted the carefully chosen winding northern roads, producing a variety of cheering reactions from passers-by and returnees.

Hundreds of motorcycles, from the supremely restored R60 to the destructive vehicle in the form of the new S1000XR M Edition, are spiced with a variety of Bavarian manufacturer models on their variants, on riders from all age groups have created an impressive display and constituted a truly traveling exhibition.

The two hiking trails ended with great care in the parking lot of the South beach complex in the Sea of Galilee.

The branded complex included lunch, equipment sales stalls and a performance by the Teapacks band (Photo: Tal Reier)

The shaded complex, which was prepared and painted in the brand colors ahead of time, included a variety of treats and surprises: water sports, bathing on a private beach, a display of the new Heritage models (details below), a hearty meal and of course a particularly happy and bouncy performance by Teapacks.

Even the brand's equipment store was present at the place for the benefit of customers who wanted to renew in this or that item at a special discount.

And speaking of a return to the indulgence tradition it is worth pausing for a moment on a special corner in the complex dedicated to the unveiling of the new Heritage models.

To the R18 classic that was introduced about a year ago and reviewed by us, are joined by two even cooler models.

The Bagger (R18 B) and the tour are pampering / excessive (R18 Transcontinental).

At the unveiling of the duo, the global BMW actually finishes with a big, fat X mark on the largest motorcycle market in the world - the American, and looks at the guys from Milwaukee in the whitest of eyes.

Unlike the somewhat spartan R18 classic, the two new models are equipped with the best electronics and indulgences that Bavarians have to offer.

From the 10.2-inch screen and adaptive cruise control (yes, it's from the new R1250RT) to the indulgence accessories (pay attention to the armchair) and the overtly exaggerated chrome and luxury (when was the last time you saw a motorcycle with a subwoofer sound system ?!) the

prices are at least as special as these tools. , The Bagger starts at NIS 230,000 for Pure and NIS 245,000 for First Edition.

For the transcontinental cross-continent, the price tag is NIS 235,000 for Pure and NIS 250,000 for the First Edition.

In conclusion, as someone who has seen one or two manufacturer / importer events in his life, I can attest to one sweet, meticulous, and most of all fun event.

The F900XR, great fun on the weekends, great usability on a daily basis (Photo: Tal Reier)

What did we ride?

And if we were having fun, a few words about the motorcycle that took me to this party, the F900XR. This is the younger brother in the XR family - the Adventure Road family. At its heart beats the engine of the new F900R and it draws the Fun DNA of the XR family from the big brother, though not in total copying. The F900XR is significantly sane and much less threatening, and in my opinion will suit a much wider clientele. Also in terms of price, which ranges from NIS 85,000 for PURE to NIS 95,000 in the case of the fully equipped Exclusive Plus.

In its dimensions it is a bit reminiscent of the F750GS (ie, people up to 175-180 cm in height will feel great on it, in an upright touring position on the one hand but sporty enough on the other) but significantly stronger and agile. , And he does not shy away from a leisurely leisurely cruise at a clearly illegal speed. But sane, have we already said?

Two disadvantages since bothered - a slightly limited steering angle for urban traffic jams, and a slightly stiff chair.
