Facebook launched this morning (Tuesday) in Israel the live audio rooms (Live Audio Rooms) - its answer to Clubhouse.

From now on, public figures and verified content creators on the platform (Blue V), as well as all Facebook communities, will be able to create their own audio rooms to hold meetings and stay in touch.

The company is expected to gradually expand the availability of the feature, and at the same time is examining the possibility of creating audio rooms from Android devices as well - after their creation has so far only been possible from iPhone devices.

The company is also exploring the possibility of joining the audio rooms through the computer.

"Facebook continues to invest in creating new social experiences that will provide creators with new tools and help people be exposed to voices and ideas," the social network said.

Alongside this, the company Facebook is developing additional audio experiences and is currently launching a line of new audio tools, which will initially be available only in the US. The new features include:

  • Audio destination - the special parent that will help people discover new audio content, find audio clips for listening and get inspired.

  • Soundbites - A beta version of a new format of short sound clips, where people can create audio content within the Facebook app.

  • Podcasts - The company will allow podcast hosts to link the RSS feed to their Facebook page so that their podcast episodes will be accessible for listening on the platform as well.
