Production of the new Volvo C40 Recharge has started in recent days. The model, in production at the Volvo Cars plant in Ghent, Belgium, is the Swedish manufacturer's second all-electric, as well as being the latest in a series of new 100% electric cars to be unveiled in the coming years.


    By 2030, Volvo Cars aims to sell only electric-powered cars, just as it aims to become climate neutral by 2040. The Ghent plant, one of the largest of the Swedish company, acts as a forerunner on the path to Volvo Cars towards full electrification.


    The XC40 Recharge, the electric-only version of the company's award-winning compact SUV, is also produced here.

    The C40 Recharge can be ordered online at volvocars.com in select markets around the world.

Customers can place their order comfortably from home or together with their trusted dealer, through the online channel. insurance and home top-up options, where available.

The propulsion system consists of two electric motors, one on the front and one on the rear axle, powered by a 78 kWh battery that can be recharged from 10% to 80% of capacity in less than 40 minutes.

The expected travel range is approximately 420 km.
