A British Conservative MP was stabbed multiple times on Friday, British media and police say.
Sir David Amess, elected to the House, 69, was in a church in Leigh-on-Sea, in his constituency of Essex, where he was on parliamentary duty, when he was attacked by a gunman.
One suspect has been arrested, Essex Police said, who said they were not looking for more.
A man's been arrested following an incident in #LeighonSea.
We were called to reports of a stabbing in Eastwood Rd North shortly after 12.05pm.
A man was arrested shortly after & we're not looking for anyone else.
