Many veterans of the army rush to some trek.

Jonathan Margie, who was released a week ago, is not going on the track yet - but is releasing four tracks this morning (Thursday) as part of a new mini-album (EP) called "Not Being Alone" which was launched last night (Wednesday) at the new Zappa Tel Aviv in the Midtown complex.

Noa Kirl also arrived in Pargan Lax, a day after the announcement of her new relationship.

Margie created the album in a year and a half, and it is influenced by the disco, rhythm and atmosphere of the eighties.

He wrote and produced the album with Jordan (Jordi) Peleg in collaboration with Static, Ron Bitton, Yishai Suissa and Michael Suissa.

Margie, congratulations on the release and the album.

Does not tickle you freedom after release?

Or is music your substitute for a trip to Goa?

"The truth is I lack some freedom. Really. But I do not know, I do not like to take freedom when I feel I have more things to finish. I believe that after I feel for the moment I have finished some stage I will fly to freedom. Right now I have more work to do."

Jonathan Margie performs the song "Do Not Be Alone" at the launch of his EP (mini album), Zappa Tel Aviv, October 20, 2021 (Sagi Ben Nun)

You are involved in creating your songs.

On the one hand, the songs on the album were created even before your parting was prevented.

On the other hand, at least some of the songs on the album ("Don't Be Alone" and "The 28th Floor") are not about a regular relationship but about flicks.

Explain to us this dissonance.

"The album talks about what it means not to be alone and what it means to be together. This whole question is very individual. Someone can be whole with themselves and not feel alone at all. I think it's amazing that I wrote these songs a year ago, like you said, and now I "I feel that they really suit me for what I experience in life. I write from the subconscious, I do not think about what I am going to write when I get to the studio. I just flow."

What frightens you more, that Noa has a new friend or that many media people are more interested in it than in your music?

"It really doesn't suck. I'm happy for her and fun for her. I don't have to get into all the things. Everything is good."

Against the background of the revival of the eighties, from the series "Strange Things" to the music of The Weekend, you too are very much influenced by the new album from the disco of that period. What connects you to that battered decade?

"Wow, I have no idea what connects me so much. In retrospect, when I go through all my songs, it turns out that there was always something in the style of my songs that was related to the eighties. I do not know why it is, as you say I did not grow up in this period, but it always is It's been like this for a year now, actually since I finished my previous EP, it's clear to me that I want to do the next EP in the Eighties style, and that was before I met De Weekend and 'Strange Things'. I do not know why, it's Something burned in me. "

Unlike in the past, the new album is more uniform in its musical style. What was the thought behind it?

"I think I wanted to take the audience on a journey, to put them in some very specific world of this EP. Because we went through an amazing process in his work. And we wanted the audience to be able to understand and experience what we went through as much as possible. I'm blessed that. "In this EP, there are all kinds of audio recordings from my phone that try to connect them as much as possible to the process we went through."

Your collaboration with Johnny Goldstein, who produced the previous EP, did not last in the new mini-album.

There are claims in the industry that there was some tension between you.

This is true?

"No, what's up. We're really good. I just produced this EP with Jordy. It did not happen anything between me and Johnny Goldstein. Not at all. Johnny is a great producer, and by the way he deserves huge and full of praise, "He is fulfilling himself abroad now on a global stage, which is an honor for this country."

Like his former music producer and ex-partner, Margie also dreams of doing it overseas. He signed a contract with music company Saban Music and music and entertainment giant Universal. Recently Margie has visited Los Angeles several times and written and recorded songs there with significant factors. "I just got back from a flight.

I'm on the line all the time now, "he says." I work a lot with people I dreamed of working with there, there are a lot of songs I wrote.

I'm trying to make it sound the best I can.

Hopefully by next year I can already get things out.

I really feel like I'm fulfilling my dreams, and it's fun. "

Now that you have been released, you are no longer limited by the IDF in matters on which you can express yourself.

Is there a chance you'll put out a protest song?

Or is politics out of bounds for you?

"If something burns in me - maybe. I learned that NEVER SAY NEVER."
