The Mulhouse prosecutor's office on Monday opened an investigation for "harassment" after the suicide of Dinah, a 14-year-old high school student who was the victim of school harassment according to her relatives, we learned from the city's public prosecutor.

No complaint has yet been filed, added the prosecutor.

But Dinah's mother announced on Sunday her intention to drop one after the 40-day mourning period observed by the Muslim religion.

Initially, the prosecution had opened an investigation for "search for the causes of death".

She had received messages such as "don't worry, you will die soon", or "we will send you links on the Internet so that you can die", after a first suicide attempt in March.

Dinah, whose mother is of Moroccan origin, suffered "racist or homophobic" insults, her father, of Reunion origin, told AFP.

"In her class, there were two students who supported her, the others took her down," he said.

The teenager, educated in second class, was found hanged at the family home in Kingersheim (Haut-Rhin), on the night of October 4 to 5.

She was the last and only daughter of three siblings.

During a white march which brought together more than a thousand people in Mulhouse on Sunday, Dinah's mother had questioned several of her comrades in front of journalists as well as the inaction of the teaching staff to whom she accused "of" to have closed the eyes ”.
