For the mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet, there is no doubt: the bullets fired this Monday evening in the district of La Duchère (9th arrondissement) aimed to sow death among the police officers in intervention.
If no one was injured, these "extremely serious facts", in the words of the elected official, still provoked the mobilization of the Raid, which sealed off two HLM bars, according to France 3.

It was around 7 pm when these three police officers from the anti-crime brigade (BAC), in a “classic” surveillance operation of a point of deal, were targeted by ten bursts of fire, to which they responded.
"We are in a place of very strong dealings and undoubtedly, it is in connection with actions (against drug trafficking, editor's note) which have taken place in recent days, and in particular last week," said the prefecture, adding that research was underway to find the perpetrator (s) of the shootings.
To prevent a possible escape, the police and the Raid then established a security perimeter.
Without success this Monday evening, since no one was arrested.
On the judicial front, the deputy prosecutor of Lyon announced the opening of an investigation for attempted homicide on a person holding public authority.
