Macabre discovery in the Gard.
A 35-year-old man was found shot dead on Tuesday in Vauvert, a locality located about twenty kilometers south of Nîmes in the Gard, according to a source close to the investigation.
The man was discovered by his father next to his vehicle on an isolated property, at the exit of this town of Petite Camargue, according to this source having requested anonymity.
The gendarmes went there and found that the victim had been shot in the head, specifies the daily Midi Libre.
The "privileged" criminal track
The victim, a 35-year-old father unknown to the police, was to leave his home at around 7 a.m. and return to his place of work.
His father heard an explosion between 7:30 am and 8 am in Vauvert, specifies France 3 Occitanie.
Seeing that his son's truck which was due to leave for work had not moved, the man approached the vehicle and discovered his lifeless body.
"The investigation is entrusted to the gendarmes of the Nîmes research section," said deputy prosecutor Véronique Compan who was also on site in the morning.
The investigation must determine the causes of this tragedy.
The criminal track remains "privileged", according to a source close to the investigation.
