Natalie Wood's sister claims in a new book: Kirk Douglas raped the actress

The late actress Natalie Wood passed away 40 years ago, but a new book written by her sister and currently being published in the United States claims that the actress was sexually assaulted by actor Kirk Douglas, who also passed away about a year and a half ago. Wood's sister, Lana, published a book called "Little Sister" in which she revealed that Douglas sexually assaulted Wood in the summer of 1955, when Wood was only 17, while filming.
Lana said Wood's mother organized the meeting between her daughter and Douglas with the goal that the latter "could help open doors" for her daughter, the young actress. Douglas was in his thirties and one of the big stars in Hollywood, starring in "Spartacus" and other movies. "It was a long time before Natalie came back from the meeting," wrote Lana, who was 8 that year. "She looked awful. She and my mother started whispering to each other. I couldn't really hear or understand what they were saying." Lana wrote that she immediately realized that something terrible had happened to her older sister.
Lana further said that her sister and mother decided among themselves that it was better not to reveal what happened "because it could ruin Natalie's career".
Eventually, Natalie told Lana about the rape she went through that night in Douglas' suite at the hotel just a few years later.
"He hit me, Lana," she said in tears.

Kirk Douglas passed away in February 2020 at the age of 103. For years there were rumors that he was the one who sexually assaulted Wood.
Douglas' son, actor Michael Douglas, commented on the new allegations in Lana's book: "Let them both rest in peace."
Natalie Wood died in mysterious circumstances in November 1981 in a mysterious boating accident after falling into the water from her then husband's boat.
Wood's sister, Lana, is convinced that her husband is the one who pushed her to her death.
