Rockstar Games has had massive technical problems with its so-called Rockstar Games Launcher since Thursday.
The software that is required on the PC to play "Red Dead Online" and "Grand Theft Auto Online" is currently not running as usual.
Rockstar Games confirms on its website that there is a malfunction that also paralyzes the aforementioned two major online titles for all computer users.
Another reason makes the disruption even more annoying: On Thursday afternoon in German time, Rockstar Games released “GTA: The Trilogy”, a game package consisting of new editions of the three action classics “GTA III”, “GTA: Vice City” and “GTA: San Andreas «.
Those games can no longer even be downloaded due to the failure of the Games Launcher.
The option to buy the PC version of "GTA: The Trilogy" from Rockstar Games has also disappeared for the time being.
For the PC, “GTA: The Trilogy”, which is approved for ages 18 and over, is sold digitally exclusively by Rockstar Games itself.
The game collection is not available on the Steam sales platform or in the Epic Games Store.
Unclear when it will continue
On its Web site, Rockstar Games writes that it thanks its customers for their patience and understanding as it continues efforts "to restore service to the Rockstar Games Launcher and supported games."
The company leaves it open as to how long the disruption will last.
On Thursday evening in Germany, Rockstar Games initially only announced "maintenance work" on Twitter, which is why the Rockstar Games Launcher would be temporarily taken offline.
Users who had been looking forward to playing the »GTA Trilogy« received this announcement maliciously.
For example, it was written that the maintenance work looked about as unsuitable as if the light suddenly came on after 15 minutes of film and the screening was interrupted when going to the cinema and buying popcorn.
