Corona and 3G at work: "Nobody knows anymore what applies to the many Gs"

The traffic light parties want 3G in operations. How should they implement this, what are the consequences of violations? Not clear yet. Only one thing is certain: the rules are becoming stricter for those who have not been vaccinated.

The employees of this bakery in Feldkirchen, Bavaria, will soon be faced with new corona rules.

Politicians plan to introduce 3G in the workplace.

That would have consequences for many employees and their employers.

Heinrich Traublinger Jr., Traublinger bakery and confectionery:

“It is of course a huge effort.

Of course, thank goodness, we have a very high vaccination rate here in production, thank goodness.

But even with the remaining employees who do not yet have this, this test must be carried out under supervision.

That takes time. "

So far, employers have had to offer all employees who do not only work in the home office two corona tests per week.

There is no compulsory test.

If the SPD, FDP and the Greens have their way, in the future only those who have recovered and are vaccinated will bake bread and rolls in the bakery.

Unvaccinated people would then have to show a negative corona test every day.

Heinrich Traublinger Jr., Traublinger bakery and confectionery:

“Of course, the test might take two or three minutes, but you have to do it for every employee.

You have to do this twice a week.

Then you have to label them with your name, with the date, you have to keep them for two weeks.

And you have to repeat that over and over again, the whole thing.

Yes, it is cost-intensive, it is time-consuming and the costs are unfortunately borne by the employer. "

With the 3G plans, the parties to the possible traffic light coalition are reacting to the sharp increase in corona cases with a low vaccination rate - and to the growing call for uniform rules.

This is what the employees in a Caritas home for the elderly in Munich want.

Doris Schneider, Caritas Munich and Freising:

»Nobody really knows what is true of the many Gs, with this and that and which one.

So uniformity, long-term communication of the rules that apply to us as well.

It is always the case that ad hoc rules are made on Friday evening, which must be implemented on Saturday if possible. «

After more than a year of the corona pandemic, many nurses are exhausted and at the end of their tether, according to the head of the facility.

Doris Schneider, Caritas Munich and Freising:

“We would get out of this pandemic so easily if everyone who can get vaccinated chooses to vaccinate.

Then we would no longer have the problem.

If so, then a general compulsory vaccination and not just for certain professional groups. "

Even for the master baker from Feldkirchen, it would be less work if all employees were obliged to be vaccinated.

Heinrich Traublinger Jr., Traublinger bakery and confectionery:

“I say that as Heinrich Traublinger, I don't say that as a representative of the association, I say that to you as Heinrich Traublinger: Maybe politics should say that I was wrong.

I would personally support it. "

A compulsory vaccination for all is not in sight.

3G in the workplace is almost safe.

But much is still unclear: should the employer even know which employees have been vaccinated?

And what are the consequences of violating the obligation to test?

In one week, the federal and state governments want to advise on this.

Whether 3G, 2G, 2G option, or 2G + ... it is already clear: Unvaccinated people are subject to ever stricter rules - probably not only at work.
