Date of announcement and launch

Judging by previous years, Samsung will most likely announce the Galaxy S22 in January 2022, just like the Galaxy S21.

However, according to recent reports the lack of chips may lead to delays that will delay the announcement event for February.

To be more specific, according to Front Page Tech, the leaking channel and YouTuber John Proser, pre-orders for the Galaxy S22 series will open on the eve of the announcement on February 8, with official delivery and launch to stores on February 18.

In total we are expected to see three devices: two base models - Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus, alongside the premium Galaxy S22 Ultra model.

Prices

According to most reports Samsung maintains the prices we know.

For example, the base model will be sold at a starting price of about $ 800, while for the Galaxy S22 Plus model Samsung will ask for about $ 1,000.

Alongside this, the premium model - Galaxy S22 Ultra, will receive a starting price tag of about $ 1,200

Design

The very fact that this year we have not seen a new model in the Note series from Samsung (ie, Note 21), indicates the possibility that Samsung has finally parted ways with the series and will swallow it into the main S series. At the same time, the recent leaks that allegedly revealed the Galaxy S22 Ultra reveal at least some of Samsung's plans and strengthen the rumors.

According to the latest leaks, it seems that the Galaxy S22 Ultra will integrate the pen niche in the body of the device. It will also come with a 6.8-inch convex screen, and there is no reason to think that it will not be an AMOLED screen with a high refresh rate, similar to the models marketed today.

As you can see in the photos, the design change in the premium model is at the back, with the lenses placed separately from each other and not in a square or rectangle. However, in contrast to the bold and innovative design of the Galaxy S22 Ultra, the regular models may retain the familiar design, with the bulk of the design difference being in the size of the devices.

The base models will retain the familiar design.

Cameras

Unlike Chinese manufacturers, Samsung has lagged behind in recent years when it comes to the field of photography - and has even received harsh criticism for the photography set of the Galaxy S21 Ultra, which according to some factors was less good than the previous generation.

The hope now is that the technology giant has done homework and put emphasis where it should.

According to recent rumors, the two base models are expected to come with a main sensor with a resolution of 50 megapixels, while the premium model may incorporate a 108 megapixel sensor, with the level of detail expected to be significantly higher.
