A viral video managed to create a storm around a hidden button in the app's settings - and also hope for quite a few users.
is it true?
We asked Meta (Facebook, for you) and came back with a very clear answer

"Have you seen the video that explains the increase in exposure in the story?"
- This question has appeared in quite a few posts that have arrived in the box in recent days on my private Instagram account, claiming that against the background of the decrease in exposure on the social network, there is a secret button in the app settings "that can increase exposure to posts".
As is well known, the promotion of Instagram posts is an art in itself, and the reasons for the success of any profile are usually hidden.
The solution, apparently, was rolled out in a viral reels video released by an American Instagram anchor, which as of this writing has already reached 19.6 million views.

The explanation - and the truth
The "solution" everyone is talking about includes a few simple steps - go into settings - click on "Account" and then on the "Sensitive Content Control" button. Then, click on Allow - and allow the app to show us sensitive content. Think it will increase your exposure? We are sorry to disappoint.
In fact, this is a button that Instagram launched as early as last July. What is he doing? The answer is written in gray on Instagram: "This setting can help you control the amount of photos and videos you may find offensive or annoying on the Explore page. It does not control what you see in posts, glasses, story feeds or content recommended for you."
To investigate the matter in depth, we turned to Meta, Integram's parent company, and there they told Walla! Technology that "this is a misinterpretation" (misinterpretation). According to Meta, the goal is to limit the visibility of certain posts marked as sensitive content,To help users avoid posts they prefer not to see.
The reel video that caused the storm:

"There was a slight hysteria that caused quite a few inquiries to me to the page that asked me about the subject, but of course this is unsubstantiated nonsense."
Says Gal Lavie, an expert on social networks, in a conversation with Walla!
technology.
"Anyone who has knowledge of Instagram at the professional and non-amateur level knows that this is a legitimate definition that has existed for a while on all networks and this time we are given the opportunity to choose the level of censorship."
The social network commented on the feature at its launch last July, saying: "This content does not necessarily violate the platform's community rules, but may create discomfort or harm some people, such as content with sexual innuendos or expressions of violence - so the platform restricts them." .
Instagram CEO, Moral Man, explains about the feature in question:
