The new MacBook Pro computers, just announced by Apple, are being snatched off the shelves like rolls after Passover.

We went out to check where you can find them when buying in Israel, and where is the cheapest to buy?

Almost every year, ahead of the (Christian) holidays and shopping season, Apple renews its line of laptops.

In the last two years the business has become even more interesting, since Apple went independent, and announced new home-made processors, called the M1.

These ARM-based processors have won critical acclaim both for performance and in the battery life section and not only give a "fight" to Intel processors, but even defeat them by certain parameters.

Similarly, Apple also incorporates baked-in graphics in its kitchen, so more than ever MacBooks are more "Apple" than their predecessors.

This year, too, Apple did not disappoint fans at all, unveiling a new generation of M1 processors, called the M1 Pro and M1 Max. In both cases, these are performance monsters, but in the case of the M1 Max, it's a processor for the top market segment and the most demanding applications, which competes with Intel's Core i9 series.

Some technical data: These are processors with eight or ten cores, which are integrated in one processor (so-called System On Chip) of 16 graphics cores on the M1 Pro and 32 graphics cores on the M1 Max, and up to 2000 gigabytes / second as the working bandwidth In front of the memory or 4000 gigabytes / second in the case of the M1 Max.

And for these powerful processors, Apple's excellent screens, the Liquid Retina XDR mini-LED screens, with full HDR support, high resolutions, and with brightness data of up to 1600 nits in sizes of 14.2 and 16.2 inches (5.9 million and 7.7 million pixels respectively), along with an array of six speakers with Dolby Atmos support (including surround sound support in the headphones that also detects head movement), these are serious multimedia monsters.

This year, Apple also brought outlets that once tried to kill, such as a headphone jack, connect the MagSafe magnetic, HDMI and SD card reader - as well as three USB ports-C with support for Thunderbolt 4.

No wonder then, a professional media and others, simply Attacked those computers that were hijacked moments after distribution to stores.

In Israel, they are available in some places for pre-order and in some are sold, and in some - the stock is simply snatched away like rolls.

So, we went out to check (well, we stayed home, but wandered around the net!) - on how many new MacBook Pros are sold, especially now, in the shopping month of November and when we are less than two weeks before Black Friday, and came back with surprising data.

Apple has also returned the author of the magnetic MagSafe (Photo: Apple)

How much does a MacBook Pro cost in Israel?

We took two models for comparison: MacBook Pro 14 with 8-core M1 Pro chip, 14-core graphics processor, 16GB of memory and 512GB of SSD storage. And the second model, the MacBook Pro 16, with a 10-core M1 Pro chip, a 16-core graphics processor (more powerful than the 14), but also with 16GB of memory, and 512GB of SSD storage.

The availability of the models in Israel varies, and there are also the most powerful M1 Max models in Israel, but their prices rise towards NIS 15,000, so we decided to focus on models that are a little more accessible in terms of price.

It is worth noting that if you travel abroad, then there is more variety of options and prices than we found on the shelves here, but of course, what is sold here in Israel is more relevant to most of our readers (and of course, covered by direct warranty and service of official importers). When buying a computer, see also below).

Traveling abroad?

You will find a variety of options and prices from what you will find in the country (Photo: ShutterStock)

In our searches we focused mainly on the big chains, but we also added one medium-sized online store that we know and trust for its reliability, Schneider Computers.

So the MacBook Pro 14 model 2021 as of the cheapest writing time that can be found in Israel, is in electrical warehouses, for a significantly lower price of 7199 shekels.

However, it depends on availability and at the time of writing, there was no inventory on the site.

After them comes the iStore, where it costs 8074 shekels.

With a very small difference from them, it is sold at KSP for NIS 8090.

The cheapest price we found - in a network of electrical warehouses.

But with KSP a strange thing happened to us: during the collection of data on this bottle, he was already given a Black Friday discount and it was available for about NIS 7,200 (same price of electrical storage), but within half an hour when we went back to check the price again ... Inventory.

Did we say they were snatched from the shelves?

We did not exaggerate.

So the price name as of this moment, is 8090 shekels.

In the Bug chain, the price is NIS 8,149, in Idigital, it was sold at NIS 8249, while in Schneider we found it for NIS 8,990, when, presumably, we assume that a small store does not have the same bargaining power of the chains vis-à-vis importers.

And what about the MacBook Pro 16?

At KSP it was not available, but the cheapest price we found was also, in electrical warehouses (again, depending on stock availability) at a total of NIS 8,890.

In the bug, it is sold at a slightly higher price, at NIS 9,179, in what is already branded as the Black November sale, with a discount of about NIS 1,000 on their list price.

In the other points of sale, the prices rise to a range above NIS 10,000, while in the iStore it is sold for NIS 10,155, in Schneider for NIS 10,490, while in iDigital it is sold for NIS 10,299 to the consumer.

As mentioned, these are promotions at the beginning of Black Friday and so far we have not encountered any significant discounts other than the one that flashed for a moment in KSP, and the discount we found in the bug - worth following and seeing.

Of course, you should also compare with the prices on sites abroad that ship to Israel - but these should also check issues such as the cost of shipping, payment of taxes at the entrance to Israel, and matters, warranty and service if God forbid your bottle needs such. Renew.
