Settling of scores, accident or suicide?
That is what the investigation will have to determine.
The body of a man in his thirties was discovered Saturday evening, shortly after 9 p.m., on the seat of a charred car in Florange (Moselle), the Thionville prosecutor's office announced on Sunday.
An investigation has been opened to find the causes of death, he said.
The body was discovered totally charred by the firefighters responsible for extinguishing the burning vehicle.
According to the first elements revealed by Le Républicain Lorrain, the vehicle would have hurtled down this one-way street in the wrong direction, before bursting into flames.
"Samples were taken, in search of accelerating products", favoring the fire, still according to the prosecution which does not rule out "any leads" and provides "an autopsy in the week".
The mayor does not believe in settling scores
The deceased "would be the owner of the car, a Florangeois in his thirties", according to the mayor of Florange, Rémy Dick.
Because the man who owned the vehicle has still not returned to his mother where he lived, in Florange.
His schedule is being analyzed and hearings of his family and relatives are also scheduled for Sunday, announces the local radio.
The elected official indicates that "the body was on the seat of the car", in an unusual position, according to France Bleu.
His head was down, at the level of the feet, the body curled up on itself, according to the floor of Thionville.
"This person was not known to the police services and would not have any link with any trafficking", added the mayor, when questioned.
According to him, "nothing suggests that it would be a settling of scores".
