It was the first time I laughed at the new season of "Wonderland"

Almost nothing was funny in "Wonderland."

Imitations that once burst out laughing just didn’t work all of a sudden, something didn’t connect.

And perhaps the unsigned agreement that we are mocking someone stronger than us has fallen apart this season, along with Netanyahu's 12 years?

Still, there was one moment that reminded me of "Land" in its grandeur

Promo "Great Country" Season 19 (Rainbow 12)

British writer Douglas Adams once recounted how he sat in embarrassment at a performance of the great stand-up comedian George Carlin, when he told the familiar joke: "If the black box on a plane is never damaged in a crash, why not build the whole plane from the material of the black box?". The crowd around him laughed, but Adams thought the joke just did not work, since the black box was made of titanium, and if they had built titanium planes they could not have risen from the ground in the first place. The problem, he would later explain, was to hear such a brilliant man as Carlin tell this joke, while if a comedian known for his nonsense jokes was on stage, he could understand the humor in the joke - but then he had to trust the audience to know the difference between The weight of titanium to aluminum, from which aircraft are made. "There is no way to analyze the joke without relying on the narrator and the audience they tied the knot to mock complacently to someone who knows more than them," Adams concluded sadly,He added that he was afraid that many of the jokes he told in his life came from mere ignorance.

I was reminded of Adams when I watched the fifth episode of the 19th season of "Wonderland," probably by force of inertia, and almost nothing made me laugh, certainly not on the show's political panel.

Imitations that once made me laugh like those of Naftali Bennett, Yair Lapid or Amit Segal just didn't work for me all of a sudden.

It's not that Roi Bar Natan or Eran Zarchovich have become less good imitators, and it's doubtful that the screenwriters of the old show suddenly forgot how to write punches, but something did not connect with me.

And perhaps, the unsigned agreement that we are mockingly mocking together for someone stronger than us has fallen apart this season, along with Netanyahu's 12 years?

The imitation suddenly did not work.

It started with Gilat Bennett's 'first reaction' from a vacation abroad, which featured the prime minister's wife snacking on shrimp in the Maldives and sipping cocktails while Naftali Bennett cries that she ruined his career. The previous prime minister's wife and son were constantly ridiculed, so there is no reason for Gilat not to get her own imitation, but the truth is that Gilat Bennett was never the heart of the story, but her husband's failed conduct after the trip was announced.

The decision of the creators of "Eretz" to go over the head of the prime minister's wife, and present her as a hedonist who does not count her husband, quite absolved of responsibility the man with the important role in the country.

The real Naftali Bennett failed in this affair in the public aspect, and to this day has not yet offered a matter-of-fact and honest response to his family's trip, and contented himself with embarrassing excuses and jokes Dad.

In "Wonderland" they chose to go for the easier prey in the place, which is a laziness that has not characterized the writers in the past.

It's hard not to feel that if the prime minister had another prime minister, say a name that rhymes with "Didi Matityahu", this sketch would probably have been much sharper.

Next, there was a long and worthy reference to one of the issues that most interests the Israeli public - the depressing situation on the country's roads. Collective pain and despair are excellent materials for satire, and for the avoidance of doubt, in "Great Country" they know how to do satire. But here, too, something seems to have gone wrong with the writers, who instead of getting into full throttle on Transport Minister Merav Michaeli for the failures being made in the area under her responsibility for six months, kept mocking her for being a neglectful mother, unmoved by losing her baby. Why actually? Beyond the fact that it's not true and certainly not related to its kosher function, it's also just not funny.

As for its kosher function, in "Eretz Nehederet" they decided to give Michaeli a very big discount, and instead directed the arrows to Israel Katz - who left the Ministry of Transport two and a half years ago. Three different buttocks sat on the Minister of Transport's chair The satire to go for one of the least successful imitations in its history (sorry, Berald, but have you ever seen Israel Katz speak at all?). All to get into a politician who is irrelevant to the current problem that is going nowhere.

Thank God for that.

Meanwhile, along with the third (and partly justified) criticism of Israel Katz, he is credited with quite a few achievements that at the moment Merav Michaeli can only dream of. To the Galilee, the Jezreel Valley and the Negev, thus bringing the periphery closer to the center (and vice versa), not to mention the light rail project in the center that was launched at a cost of tens of billions during his tenure.

Just before I had thought that my long affair with "A Wonderful Land" had come to an end, a guest from the past named Tal Friedman emerged from it, and gave his genius imitation to Ron Huldai.

It was the first time since the beginning of the season that I had sat in front of the TV and laughed out loud.

It's not clear how much of the sketch was filmed and how much Friedman simply improvised on the spot, but it was too brief a reminder of what "Great Country" looks like in its grandeur.

Takes a common pain of us all and turns it into something funny.

It happens when she is not afraid to enter with all her might in the strongest possible way.
