The Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe are known for their original marketing.
The BVG is causing a stir with a new campaign: From this Monday on, passengers in Berlin can purchase a so-called “Hanfticket” for local transport.
According to the BVG, the day ticket for local public transport in the capital - at a price of EUR 8.80 - consists of edible paper and was drizzled with a fine layer of hemp oil.
Each ticket contains a maximum of three drops of hemp oil.
After the expiry date, the ticket can be consumed
The 24-hour tickets are valid for the respective day from midnight to midnight.
And once the validity has expired, you can consume the ticket.

The hemp oil is obtained from the seeds of the cannabis plant.
Unlike the flowers, the seeds do not contain any intoxicating ingredients such as THC or CBD.
The oil on the tickets was "completely harmless to health" and "completely legal," stressed the BVG.
"In principle, hemp oil is just as harmless as sunflower, pumpkin seed or olive oil," it said.
Children and pregnant women should also eat the hemp ticket without any worries.
Hemp oil is said to have a calming effect.
However, this has not been scientifically proven.
Does that help against pre-Christmas stress?
The BVG also published a video of the action.
»Christmas is the best time of the year - when you don't spend it hauling Christmas trees, looking for a parking space or doing last-minute shopping.
If you want to drive towards Christmas relaxed, you can do it with us - the BVG.
And to provide additional relaxation, we have found another remedy.
To be precise: really good stuff! «Says the description.
The promotion runs up to and including Friday of this week.
The “Hanftickets” are only sold in the BVG customer centers.
You can find more information about the ticket and the Berlin sales outlets here.
In social networks, users reacted with amusement to the announcement of the BVG.
"You like to eat this ticket!" Joked one, "from now on you can also fly with the BVG," wrote another.
No opinion on the legalization of cannabis
The BVG does not want the advertising to be understood as a positioning in the debate about the legalization of cannabis.
"We are against any kind of drug use - regardless of whether it is illegal or legal," said the company.
That is why there is a strict ban on drugs and alcohol in all BVG vehicles and train stations.
