Macabre news.
A 21-year-old man died on the evening of December 25 after being shot in the head in Saint-Herblain (Loire-Atlantique), the Nantes public prosecutor confirmed on Monday.
"The circumstances of this death remain to be established," said Renaud Gaudeul.
According to information from Presse-Océan, the victim, originally from Châteaubriant (Loire-Atlantique), father of a three-month-old girl, died shortly after being transported to the Nantes University Hospital.
According to Ouest-France, the victim was taken to the emergency room directly by car by one of his acquaintances, a 29-year-old man.
According to the newspaper, he explained that the victim was allegedly targeted by a gun while he was in the car in the Bellevue district.
"We must remain very careful" vis-à-vis this information, insists to Ouest-France the prosecution: nothing comes to support them for the moment.
An investigation has been opened for intentional homicide.
Also according to the newspaper, the victim was unknown to the police.
