Merav Michaeli opposes Omar Adam's new song, "Kakdila". In a Facebook post, the Minister of Transport wrote: "I wish I could be as light and cool as Omar Adam, I wish. I wish I could say what the problem is, it picks up and bounces guys at parties and weddings, what are you guys up to. I wish I could, like Omar Adam, ignore And deny the consequences of the racist, disparaging and humiliating words in his song.I wish.but unfortunately I am honored.because I have just been dealing for years with the devastating consequences of such songs and of the culture they represent and produce.
"I want to believe that Omar Adam is not an evil man. I want to believe that if Omar Adam had seen the girls whose lives were over because someone who had heard such a song thought it was cool and what she was interested in and what she was serious about, he would have brought this song out of the world. But he does not meet them. Because he chooses not to meet and not to see and not to face reality.
"It's not just about Omar Adam, of course," Michaeli added.
"All the stars who have such tremendous success and admiration, have tremendous power in their hands. And with that power comes great responsibility. Let's be so popular and cool without causing such terrible damage. Opportunity for a beautiful decision for the new year."

Omar Adam's "Cockatoo" (meaning "what is heard" in Russian) came out yesterday in honor of the end of the civil year, and has since absorbed criticism and allegations of racism.
The lyrics of the song, written by Moshe Ben Avraham, Ofek Yekutiel, Maor Titon and Elad Trabelsi, describe, among other things, Russian girls and refer to their language difficulties and fondness for drinking.
No response has yet been received on behalf of Omar Adam.
