Saturday around 8 p.m., a man arrived at the Auvare barracks in Nice (Alpes-Maritimes).
He then affirms in front of the police officers to have had an argument with his ex-wife and "that he did not know in what state she was" according to the public prosecutor's office of Nice quoted by Nice-Matin.
The man then drives the police to a vehicle whose trunk contained the corpse of the 46-year-old victim.
If according to Nice-Matin, the circumstances of this dispute remain unknown for the moment, the first observations revealed traces of strangulation.
"An agent of our community"
The investigation was entrusted to the criminal brigade of the departmental security of Nice.
The companion or ex-companion of the victim, according to Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice was taken into custody just like their twenty-year-old son.
On Twitter, Christian Estrosi “denounced the horror of this alleged murder.
He says he is "devastated" after the discovery "of the body of a woman who would have been killed by her ex-companion".
"My thoughts are turned to the children, the family and the relatives of the victim who was an agent of our community", added the mayor of Nice.

This is the third femicide of the year in France, after one in Maine-et-Loire and a second in Meurthe-et-Moselle.
