Tesla closed the past year with a record.
The Musk company has significantly exceeded analysts' expectations.
Austin (USA) - Short-time working time and again, and sales figures also fell short of expectations.
The entire automotive industry had to struggle with the consequences of the chip crisis last year.
The whole auto industry?
No, a brave electric car manufacturer from the USA is defying the negative trend, as reported by 24auto.de.
The Gallic village among automakers goes by the name of Tesla.
Unlike the competition, the Elon Musk-led company managed to further increase its sales figures.
In the last quarter, the electric car manufacturer from Texas delivered 308,600 vehicles to its customers - a new record for the US group.

But not only did the last quarter go very well for Tesla, the bottom line is that company boss Musk should be very satisfied with the year 2021.
After all, the New Texans delivered around 936,000 cars, an increase of 87 percent compared to 2020. In the long term, an annual increase of 50 percent should be maintained.

The new Gigafactorys in Grünheide and Austin should make this possible.
The plant near Berlin should originally have started production this year.

The fact that Tesla was able to increase its sales figures so significantly despite the lack of chips was also due to the fact that the US company quickly managed to rewrite its software so that it runs on different chips than the previously used ones.
This gave Tesla more choice in terms of components.
Nevertheless, the analysts were surprised by the strong annual financial statements.
An increase was expected, but only about 263,000 electric cars.
In the same quarter of the previous year, Tesla had delivered a good 180,000 vehicles and in the third quarter of 2021 just under 242,000.
The Model 3 and Model Y compact cars continue to have the largest share in Tesla's success. Of these, almost 297,000 vehicles were delivered in the final quarter and a good 911,000 throughout the year.
In Germany it even looked at times as if the Model 3 could even overtake the Golf.
The remaining 25,000 vehicles are split between the Model X and S.
