The decomposed body of a child has been found off the Greek island of Naxos, two weeks after two accidents involving ships carrying migrants, the Greek coast guard said.
The child, aged about three, wore a pacifier hanging from a string with pearls, a printed bib, brown and burgundy clothes and a blue striped sock on the right foot, the coast guard said in a report on Saturday evening. communicated.
The child's body was to be transported to the port of Piraeus for an autopsy.
On Thursday, four other bodies - a man, a woman and two young girls - were found, three off Naxos and the other off the nearby island of Paros.
Two serious accidents in two days
On December 24, the coast guard recovered the bodies of 16 migrants - 12 men, three women and a baby - and rescued 63 others who were on board a ship that was wrecked in the Aegean Sea near the island of Paros, which belongs to the Cyclades archipelago.
Departing from the western Turkish coast, the ship was headed for Italy.

On December 23, 11 lifeless bodies were found after the sinking of a boat with a hundred migrants on board, stranded the same day on an islet north of the island of Antikythera in the south of the Peloponnese.
Some 90 survivors, including 11 women and 27 children, had been rescued by the coast guard.
And the day before, on December 22, the capsizing of a rubber dinghy carrying migrants and refugees off the island of Folegandros, also in southern Greece, also killed at least three.
Thirteen people, mainly Iraqis, Syrians and Egyptians, had been rescued.
