It is a terrible drama that no one would imagine living twice.

And yet, the town of Silmont, in the Meuse, relives the same waking nightmare, two years apart.

Alexandre, a 20-year-old young man, died on Thursday at dawn after his car hit a house in this small town at high speed.

In May 2019, one of his friends – who was driving without a license – died in the same circumstances, at the same time, reports Est Républicain.

The only differences are the weather conditions: fog two years ago, a clear night on Thursday.

An investigation opened by the prosecution will have to determine if the accident was not voluntary, as the similarities with the previous one are striking.

“Despite the extinction of the public action with the death of the driver of the car, I asked the gendarmes to continue the investigations for the family.

We owe it to this family to seek the truth.

The purpose of these investigations is to demonstrate whether it is an accident or a voluntary act, ”said Sofian Saboulard, public prosecutor of Bar-le-Duc, to the regional daily.

“He is a boy who could have empty passages”

Alexandre lived in Bar-le-Duc, about ten kilometers from Silmont.

Arriving from Culey, on departmental 6, he hit a chicane and then crashed into the facade of a house.

The car then burst into flames, and the fire started to reach the house.

Probably launched at high speed, the driver went straight in the direction of the house and his car came to be embedded in the facade.

In the shock, the car, whose tank was apparently full, burst into flames.

The fire started to spread to the house.

The owners of the house, awakened by the sound of the impact, were able to get out on their own.

In shock, they were taken to the hospital by firefighters.

When the police arrived, the car had already completely burned down.

Once the driver was identified by a criminal investigation technician from the national gendarmerie, relatives were heard to identify his personality and give direction to the investigation, reports Est Républicain.

"He is a boy who could have bad times, he has a painful experience", indicated the prosecutor of Bar-le-Duc, who explained that the young man had lost his mother a few years ago, before that his friend does not die in the same place as him, in 2019.
