While working inside his office with a parliamentary adviser to Eric Dupond-Moretti, he was allegedly violently taken

Two individuals, suspected of having participated in the attack on LREM deputy Romain Grau on Saturday in Perpignan, were taken into custody on Thursday, according to the prosecution.

The deputy, elected in 2017, announced on Sunday that he had filed a complaint after the attack on his office by individuals demonstrating against the health pass, declaring that he had been the victim of "intolerable violence".

The day before, while he was working on his duty with Guillem Gervilla, a parliamentary adviser to Éric Dupond-Moretti, "a horde of people" walked towards them, tapping on the windows overlooking the street.

The two men then went out to try to calm the crowd "of around 250 demonstrators", but were "violently" attacked, according to Romain Grau.

" To death !

On a video posted on Twitter by Guillem Gervilla, we see a man screaming “to death” and another shouting “ho!

Did you vote it the pass?

".

Another video circulating on social networks shows dozens of people, some wearing yellow vests, repeating "collaborators" in the direction of Grau and Gervilla.

Violence has no place in public debate.

According to the LREM deputy, the two elected officials would have been the target of “fairly heavy insults” and he himself would have received a “punch on the chin”.

In addition, one of his neighbors who intervened would have been slapped, according to him.

In July 2019, Romain Grau's office in Perpignan had already been targeted by yellow vests who had broken windows and tried to set fire to the premises where the deputy was.
