The Volkswagen boss Herbert Diess has been infected with the corona virus.
A company spokesman revealed how the 63-year-old is doing.
Wolfsburg – Two years have passed since the corona virus was first detected in Germany.
In the meantime, effective vaccines have been developed, but the virus has also repeatedly adapted through mutations.
The omicron variant, in particular, is spreading at breakneck speed and causing incidences to skyrocket again and again.
The vaccination protection seems to be significantly worse compared to the other corona variants, but the vaccines still prevent a severe course.
Herbert Diess (63) has now also experienced this, as reported by 24auto.de.

The fact that Diess was infected with the corona virus was discovered last week during regular tests.
As a result, the VW boss immediately went into quarantine and continued his work from the home office.
In addition, the people who were last in contact with Diess had also had themselves tested for the virus.
However, the tests were all negative.

Herbert Diess falls ill with Corona - other prominent cases in the VW Group
The VW boss is to be tested again in the coming days, and if the result is negative, the 63-year-old could take part in face-to-face meetings again.
However, this is not the first prominent corona case in the Volkswagen Group.
In 2021, the former head of the VW works council and current Traton board member Bernd Osterloh was infected with the corona virus.
Audi boss Markus Duesmann even had to struggle with “Long Covid” after his illness.
In order to prevent the spread of the corona virus, Volkswagen is also pursuing a close-knit testing strategy that is regularly adapted to the current situation.
Before meetings of the Group Executive Board, for example, its members and other persons involved are subjected to a PCR test.
The brand executives are also often tested several times a week.
VW also provides a quick test for employees.
