Nuclear fusion is closer, the clean energy of the future that mimics what happens in the heart of the stars: the European experimental jet reactor (Joint European Torus) generated energy equal to 59 megajoules at intervals of 5 seconds, equivalent to 11 megawatts .
It is double that obtained 25 years ago by the same machine.
This was announced by the Jet collaboration itself, with the German Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics.
The result was obtained by modifying the reactor to make it more similar to the future conditions of Iter, the experimental reactor that will have to give the answer on the feasibility of fusion.
