A man who was recently caught in a police check was quite different – ​​he had been on the road for 72 years (!) without a “rag”.

In Germany, a 99-year-old has now decided to renew her driver's license.

That's why she decided to get her driver's license again - for the "moped class" AM.

However, you can not only steer two-wheelers with it, but also so-called light mobiles or light vehicles - and that's exactly what the woman, who will be 100 years old in December, wants to drive in the future.

Such a lightweight vehicle is severely limited in terms of top speed: 45 km/h is the limit.

But that doesn't bother the 99-year-old: "I'm not going to run into each other," she told the newspaper.

And in Kempten you are only allowed to drive 30 or 50 kilometers per hour anyway.

An advantage of light vehicles: In Germany they are exempt from the main inspection and registration, which means that no vehicle tax is due.

Instead of a license plate number, an insurance number plate is sufficient.

The disadvantage compared to a "normal" car is - in addition to the greatly reduced speed - the lower passive safety, as reported by 24auto.de.

With ten driving lessons in a "normal" car, the 99-year-old has refreshed her driving experience.

She now wants to use her blue lightweight vehicle primarily for shopping, as reported by the "Illertisser Zeitung".

However, the almost 100-year-old woman did not undertake her first trip in the new vehicle entirely alone: ​​on a tour of Kempten through 30 km/h zones, her nephew sat in the passenger seat to be on the safe side.
