Thanks to the package it offers that includes quality, design, usability, behavior, range, fast charging option and more - the Kia EV6 picks the title of Car of the Year in Europe.

The competition, which has been held since 1964, has not always been able to predict success or attest to the quality of the car, however this year there was one perfectly clear trend in this event.

Six of the seven cars that made it to the final round of the competition were fully electric;

Kia EV6, Renault Megane E-TECH, Hyundai Ionic 5, Skoda Aniac, Ford Mach E and Copra Bourne.

The seventh competitor - the Peugeot 308 is not electric, but has semi-electric propulsion units with the plug-in version.

This is the first win for the Korean manufacturer, which previously reached the list of seven finalists three times, with the lime in 2019 (third place), the Stinger in 2018 (fourth place) and the lime in 2008 (fourth place).

In third place is its sister to the Kia platform - the Hyundai Ionic 5 with 261 points.

While the top three showed a fairly close score to each other the next four candidates already had a fairly large scoring gap.

Peugeot 308 with 191 points, Skoda Aniac with 185 points, Ford Mach E with 150 points and Copra Bourne with 144 points.

This year's competition was characterized by a very strong electric shade, with all of the 39 candidates who started the journey being able to find additional electric cars, some of which can also be purchased in Israel.

These include Mercedes EQS, Tesla Model Y, BMW i4 and iX, Audi e tron GT and Q4 e tron, Dacia Spring and AIWAYS U5.

And while the Hyundai Ionic 5 is already in Israel, the Renault Megane E-TECH is expected to arrive in the second half of the year, first Kia EV6 cars have already been registered at the Ministry of Transportation under the name of a parallel importer.

According to the information that reached Walla! Car, the declared price of the car is NIS 260,000.

According to the data, this is the base version with 229 hp of the model with the larger battery with a capacity of 77.4 kWh.

The stated range of this rear-wheel-drive version is 510 km. This is of course not the price of the official importer, however it will be interesting to see what the price will be when it arrives in the official channels very soon.
