The Russian attack on Ukraine is also reflected in German gas stations.

Prices are at a record high.

Find out here what you should pay attention to.

For the first time, drivers pay more than 2 euros per liter at German petrol stations.

It no longer matters whether you fill up with diesel or petrol.

As the

ADAC

reports, diesel is now even more expensive than petrol.

A special evaluation shows that the federal

average is 2.008 euros for Super E10

.

A week ago it was 18.1 cents less.

And the price of

diesel

has also skyrocketed.

Drivers now pay an average of 27.6 cents more and come to around

2.032 euros

nationwide .

As a result, many motorists switch to neighboring countries and refuel there*.

Increase in fuel prices since the end of 2021

The ADAC

knows that the rapid increase in fuel prices has been observed since Christmas 2021

.

Due to the Ukraine war, the trend continues to rise.

One of the consequences is the growing demand for heating oil.

As a result, petrol prices are also going up.

At the end of last year, the price per liter of Super E10 rose by around 42 cents.

An increase of around 53 cents per liter was recorded for diesel.

Saving when refueling: This is how it works

Even if it doesn't look like it at the moment, you can save some money with a few tricks when refueling.

On the one hand, it is always worth comparing the fuel prices in the area.

If you have a motorway ahead of you, you should avoid refueling there.

After all, motorway petrol stations are almost 20 cents per liter more expensive than others.

Another important point is the

time of day

.

Petrol stations are often cheaper between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m.

The times from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. can also have a favorable effect on the fuel price.

Here it is worth comparing the prices again and keeping an eye on them.
