Tragic end of the night in the beautiful districts of the center of the capital.

A 42-year-old former Argentinian rugby player was shot and killed this Saturday morning in Paris (Vie) during a brawl at the exit of a night bar.

Around 6:15 a.m. on Boulevard Saint-Germain, Federico Martin Aramburu was shot dead by two men who fled by car.

According to the first elements of the investigation, the former top athlete was at Mabillon with a friend.

A dispute would have broken out with two other customers for a trifle.

The quartet came out of the bar to do battle.

During the scuffle, one of the men reportedly pulled out an automatic pistol, which reportedly ended the melee.

A few minutes later, Federico Martin Aramburu and his friend were walking towards Boulevard Saint-Michel when they were joined by a jeep that might look like a military vehicle in which were two men who opened fire five times in their direction.

The victim was reportedly hit by two or three bullets.

An investigation opened for assassination

Rescuers quickly arrived on the scene to try to save her.

In vain.

This six-foot-tall fellow died at their hands.

The Paris public prosecutor's office opened an investigation for assassination and seized the criminal brigade of the regional direction of the judicial police to carry out the continuation of the investigations.

The police will recover the CCTV images of the bar and hear the various witnesses who could be there in an attempt to identify the killers.

Le Mabillon is not a disreputable bar.

“It's rather a chic place, underlines a policeman.

And the boulevard Saint-Germain is not known to be a particularly hot sector”.

Federico Martin Aramburu has twenty-two international caps for Argentina.

He played in France between 2004 and 2010 under the colors of Biarritz (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales) and Dax (Landes).

He won the French Championship in 2005 and 2006 with Biarritz Olympique.

Since 2014, he has managed a tailor-made travel agency, “Esprit Basque”, located in this seaside town in the South-West and specializing in group travel for companies and associations.
