The high fuel prices ensure more and more creative campaigns.
A baker from Mudau now delivered his goods in a carriage.
Mudau – Crude oil prices have recovered somewhat, but so far drivers have not noticed much of this at the pump.
Therefore, the Federal Cartel Office recently announced an investigation.
But the controversial tank discounts from Finance Minister Christian Lindner (43, FDP) or relief in another form were a long time coming.
Some motorists went back to tried and tested means of transport.
A Frenchman used his horse to go to work.
A baker from Mudau in the Odenwald even went one step further: instead of using his car, Peter Schlär recently delivered to one of his branches with a historic horse-drawn carriage – powered by two horsepower.
Because of the high fuel costs: the baker uses a carriage instead of a car
The baker's carriage was built at the beginning of the 20th century and is therefore around 120 years old.
Around ten years ago, Schlär bought them in Münsterland and installed new disc brakes, as reported by the Rhein-Neckar-Zeitung.
Otherwise it is still in its original condition.

Since then, the carriage has only been used occasionally for historical parades.
But because of the high fuel prices, he now wanted to set an example and remember the times when mankind was not dependent on petrol, diesel and oil.
However, it had been his dream for a long time to deliver to his branches by carriage, Schlär said at the request of 24auto.de.
In any case, the campaign was well received by customers.
Accordingly, he was asked several times when he would deliver his goods again by carriage.
"It won't be the last time," promises the baker.
Due to high fuel costs: horse-drawn carriages are not a permanent solution for bakers
However, the use of the historic baker's carriage is not a permanent solution.
That's why Schlär employees will continue to cover around 200 kilometers a day in the bakery's three vehicles.
In addition, a sales vehicle drives to 14 locations in the region two to three times a week.
Ten to fifteen minutes have passed before the horses are harnessed.
In addition, there is not enough time to drive through the region in a carriage and the high altitudes in some places would pose challenges for the horses.
