Many super sports cars only appear in limited numbers - but now Porsche has built a special 911 that only exists once.

Zuffenhausen – Quite a few car fans dream of a Porsche.

There are now even some models that are reasonably affordable, at least used, such as a Porsche 718 Boxster, a Porsche 718 Cayman or a Porsche Macan.

Of course, there is also the upper end of the price range, where a Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabrio ranks, which starts at around 240,000 euros.

Legendary super sports cars from Zuffenhausen such as the Porsche Carrera GT (almost 1,300 built, one is currently for sale) and the Porsche 918 Spyder (limited to 918) cost significantly more, even when used.

But: It can be even more exclusive!

The Zuffenhausen-based company has now produced an impressive one-off for a US Porsche club, as reported by 24auto.de.

Two and a half years of construction: There is only one example of the Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe.

The idea for the special vehicle came about at a meeting between representatives of the Porsche Club of America (PCA) – one of the oldest and largest brand clubs – and Porsche employees.

Because the project was created in secrecy, it was even given a code name: "Project Grey".

The starting point for the Porsche 911 Classic Club Coupe (US spelling without an accent) was a used 911 from 1998 (type 996).

Technically, the vehicle was converted into a Porsche 911 GT3 (type 997) - the 3.6-liter engine has an output of 280 kW (381 hp).

The chassis and brakes are also from the GT3.

Unique Porsche - basis for the conversion is a 911 type 996

"The Type 996 is wrongly overshadowed by the other 911 model series," says Alexander Fabig, Head of Individualization and Classic at Porsche.

"That's why we were happy to choose it as a basis to demonstrate everything that is possible within the framework of Porsche Classic and the recently expanded range of special requests from Porsche AG." With the 996 series, Porsche switched from air to water cooling for the 911 - which did not go down well with all Porsche fans.

The "fried egg" headlights also met with a lot of criticism.

The predecessor Porsche 911 (993), of which a "very special" colored copy was recently auctioned off, or even the pre-predecessor, the Porsche 911 (964) - which was honored in the cult film "Bad Boys" - are still with some today Hardcore fan more popular.

The interior of the Porsche 911 (type 996) has been extensively refined: the center panels of the seats, for example, were made of woven leather.

Unique Porsche - two and a half years construction time for the 911 Classic Club Coupe

The work on the one-off took two and a half years. The paintwork in sport gray metallic, the Fuchs rims and the fixed rear spoiler made of glass-fibre-reinforced plastic in the ducktail style of the 911 Carrera RS 2.7 (1972) are particularly eye-catching.

A lot of time has also been invested in the interior: the center sections of the seats and the door panels have been provided with elaborately crafted braided leather in a houndstooth pattern.

Incidentally, Porsche does not name a price for the one-off.
