Shalom Hanoch launches first book of songs, and in an interview with Walla!

Tarbut talks about the difference in writing that does not depend on the melody ("more relaxed"), admits that dramas in the news give him a muse ("and the quiet in the corona") and has a hard time deciding which imitation he liked better: Eran Zarchovich in "Great Country" or Maor Cohen in "Years The moon "?

A dream visit to Trump's home.

"Notes", the new and first songbook of the singer, creator and musician Shalom Hanoch, was launched today (Sunday) in an intimate event for friends and journalists in Jaffa.

The book, which was published by Agam on Thursday, was edited by Atara Ofek and accompanied by paintings by Liora Zelmman.

The book contains 78 songs, most of which have not been published or composed, but some of which appeared on his latest album "Herzl Lilienblum" or came out as singles ("Shelton").

However, the unfamiliar songs also arouse a lot of interest: one of the songs refers to his good friend Meir Ariel, who was supposed to celebrate his 80th birthday the previous month.

"So as one who lives / I know you knew / that Doctor of Wisdom / did not really want to die," Hanoch writes of the musician, who like him is a member of Kibbutz Mishmarot, with whom he has collaborated many times over the years;

Another poem is called "Corona" and is written against the background of the plague, and describes the silence outside in front of the commotion inside;

The song "Well, It's a Dream" describes a dream in which the writer is at the Trump family home;

And some songs seem to long for places overseas, from "Train to Paris" and "Until I Came to China."

Many poems in the book deal with relationships between men and women: sometimes Enoch describes "a pair of doves", as in the song bearing that name, and sometimes - as in the song "Woman and man" - describes a storm of betrayal starring "known man" and woman "legend", and Enoch - parable There was Walla!

Celebs - laughs at readers: "And you're probably curious to know / just that I'll give you the names / man and woman that everyone knows / just give us a name, give us names!".

Finally, the book was signed with a Yiddish translation of his great protest song, "Waiting for the Messiah."

Looser to write without being dependent on the melody.

Shalom Hanoch (Photo: Abir Sultan)

Hello, in the songs in your book you rarely write something that does not depend on the composition.

Your writing, when it does not depend on the melody - different and releases something in you, in technique and approach?

"First of all it's looser, no doubt. Yeah, somewhere I let it flow without thinking about the melody at the same time. And other things come out of course, all sorts of things that surprise me. I surprise myself. I was surprised at the writing itself. It just didn't stop. It runs. It happens to a person sometimes. "

It often seems like when the cannons are thundering - your muses are flourishing.

Your work to the heart during the Lebanon War, the Gulf War, the demonstrations in Balfour and also during the Corona period, where the last album and your new book of songs grew.

A catastrophic day is a different day for your muses?

"You could say that, to some extent. But what I actually get on occasions like this is quiet. During the Corona time there was a long quiet period, and things can pop up quietly. The silence says it all."

What reactions did you get from young guys who were first exposed to you?

"I got a lot of good responses. I don't know what the definition of a young man is, but I got a lot of very good responses, each in his own interest. We made the film."

"Lots of good responses."

Which of the following actors who recently played your character on screen did you like more: Eran Zarchovich in "A Wonderful Land" or Maor Cohen in "Moon Years"?

"First of all, what do I suddenly compare? And what do I suddenly judge? They're both sweet, they're both on the kippak. And Aviv's series is a series, you know."
