Space debris crashed over the weekend in the Indian village, and experts believe that these are metal parts of a Chinese rocket launched last year.

"Last Saturday, a metal ring weighing 2 to 3 meters and weighing over 40 kilograms was discovered in a field in the western India region of Rashiya.

" "People ran to their homes for fear of the explosion and remained locked in homes for nearly half an hour." No casualties were reported and no buildings were damaged.

Another object that fell that evening from the sky, was a large metal ball about half a meter in diameter.

The bullet fell in another village in the province, Ajay Gulhan told the Press Trust of India.

"We took the parts for inspection and sent junior officials to each village in the county to find out if any more parts had been found," local police said.

An official from the Indian Space Agency (ISRO) told the Times that depending on the time of the objects falling, the parts appear to belong to a Chinese rocket launched in February 2021. "When parts of rockets survive re-entry into the atmosphere, rocket parts such as nozzles, rings and fuel tanks , Said another ISRO source.

Astronomer Jonathan McDowell of the Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics tweeted that the ring apparently belonged to China's Long March 3B rocket.

In 2020, debris from another Chinese rocket fell on villages off the coast of Ivory Coast, causing structural damage but no casualties.

When objects enter the atmosphere, they create enormous amounts of heat and friction, which can cause them to burn and crumble.

The debris may land on the ground and cause damage, although the risk is low.

This incident occurs a month after another rocket apparently belonging to China crashed on the dark side of the moon.

It is estimated that a three-ton piece of space debris left a huge crater on the surface of the moon on March 4th.

This was the first time that space debris had accidentally hit the lunar surface.
