Jeep Wrangler and Jeep Grand Cherokee dressed up for Easter and the SUV Festival in Moab. These are the most interesting of the exhibits. Our guess? The Bronco took the wind out of them

Believe in the cycle?

That's the only excuse for Jeep's boredom

As every year, Jeep launches its dream team at the Easter festival;

In 2022, the manufacturer presents seven tough jeeps, not revolutionary but mostly green.

Across the horizon watches Ford Bronco, who did not shell in a counterattack

Seven display vehicles that do not shy away from rocks and mud, a tradition of decades (Photo: manufacturer's website)

Jeep has long since appropriated the "Easter Festival," which has been held in the town of Moab for 56 years.

The festival began in 1967 as a modest one-day 4X4 trip, and has become a commercial monster that unfolds over nine days.

To this day, Jeep has dominated the event without straits, leaving crumbs for other manufacturers.

In 2022, the arena changed when Ford introduced the Bronco, an SUV that aimed to undermine Wrangler's hegemony.

The Bronco has rocked the rugged terrain segment but Jeep continues its annual custom - to take advantage of the vast scope of the Easter festival, to showcase display vehicles that make terrain enthusiasts drool and evoke imagination.

It's not yet clear to us what Ford's response to the Jeep Festival will be, but we can revel in the Jeep's prototypes, especially improved wranglers.

This year full-size gladiators are absent from the show, and there is a high presence of rechargeable hybrid versions;

They also have a very cool Grand Cherokee.

Jeep Wrangler Magneto 2.0

The sharpest of our readers have not yet forgotten the MAGNETO we told you about last year.

The 2021 Magneto 4Xe model 2021 was quite similar to the semi-electric Wrangler sold even in our places on the parallel import channels, but version 2.0 presented these days in Moab is a completely different beast;

From a modest power of 281 hp, the 2.0-liter jumped to the delusional 625 hp, and the torque raged to 115 kg. The blue space monster should accelerate from zero to 100 in about 2.0 seconds, and be successful with the Wheelies ... The deal includes a 3-inch lift and 40-inch tires.

There is no information on the range of the trip, but there is no doubt that this is a Jeep with super capabilities (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

The engine power looks even more insane in light of the fact that the power plant is implanted in a short wrangler, whose wheelbase has been lengthened by 20 centimeters symbolically.

To complete the package, the magneto was fitted with 2.0 huge off-road tires, and a 6-speed manual transmission.

The box retains the power transmission of the original Rubicon, and enhances the Magneto Mark-2.0 self-charging capabilities.

The availability of electric power at zero speed allows driving without tampering with the clutch, which is only used to shift gears.

Four batteries store 70 kWh, the maximum travel range has not been announced.

Grand Cherokee TrailHawk PHEV

We crave a Jeep Wrangler but for more civilized customers, the Jeep's flagship is the Grand Cherokee that will be introduced this year in a 4xe hybrid-rechargeable version, with two electric motors and a supercharged 2.0-liter petrol engine.

The electrified Grand recently conquered the mythological Rubicon Trail;

You will be surprised to hear but there is a trail in California called 'Rubicon', named after the battle wrestler.

The Grand traveled the 35 miles of the trail on pure electric propulsion, with no air pollution.

In Moab, the Grand Cherokee will feature a 'Trailhawk' that will be equipped with 33-inch all-terrain tires on 20-inch rims, and adjustable air suspension.

The grand roof is covered with a material used to protect pickup boxes, so that it is easy for you to throw kayaks, bicycles or planks on the fire.

There's nothing revolutionary about 41 but what a charisma, what a knotty Jeep!

Although it does not have a diesel engine, I love it (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Jeep 41 'Concept

Oops, they seem to have run out of imagination in the Jeep offices;

The '41 concept is similar to the suspicion of display wranglers and gladiators we've seen before, based on Willys MB's military fame.

Despite the worn use in 1941 (the year the Jeep was introduced in World War II), we will not deny that it is a very cool design.

Beneath the military paint in a matte finish hides an electrified 4xe Wrangler with black iron fenders and a Warren winch.

IDF Jeep-like iron rims with 35-inch tires complete the picture, with 'half' doors, a winch and a tarpaulin roof. The seats are lined with tarpaulins (I hope they are more comfortable than the original ones of 1941). The 'Concept-41' in the battles of the Western Desert, but I order one like it!

Rubicon is a coveted global icon, born in the minds of crazy talkers.

Who has a birthday?

Not everyone knows this, but the truth is that the Jeep company was not at all enthusiastic about the Rubicon concept.

The concept was born in 2002 in the private minds of a handful of talk-crazy people who wanted to produce a wrangler ready for battle straight from the production line.

The guys pressed the manufacturer to show Wrangler ready for the field and when they did not respond, they planned and carried out the project after working hours - so much so that they purchased parts and spare parts with their private credit cards ... In light of the Rubicon brand's huge success,

Today Rubicon accounts for 30% of Wrangler sales, with about 200,000 Wranglers sold in 2021.

Immortal design (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Until a year ago, the Rubicon ruled the terrain world, and now he has to put in a little more effort.

The twentieth birthday is celebrated by a Jeep with a Rubicon that locks 37-inch tires on 17-inch rims, a two-inch lift, a winch and massive underbody protection.

To bring it to life, the engine was upgraded to Hemi's 8V 6.4 liter, which provides 470 hp before making improvements. You can choose between two exhaust sounds, "excessive" and "hysterical". The detachable plastic roof is replaced by a Sky One-Touch tarpaulin roof Opened, more comfortable and useful arrangement from the detachable vehicle, quieter on road travel.

A hybrid between a wrangler and a gladiator.

Jeep Bob Concept

American Jeeps tend to chop off the buttocks of off-road vans, in what is called "Bobbing."

The name of this action is called Wrangler Bob the Gray-Orange, which appears to be a pairing of Wrangler and Gladiator.

Bob Concept could have been born from an elongated wrangler but the engineers preferred to shorten the Gladiator-Rubicon by about 35 centimeters, and flip the doors and beam B out of it.

The V6 turbo diesel engine powers the vehicle, with massive Dana-60 axles.

The spare wheel occupies the entire rear box, so a loading cradle was installed above it.

An orange bikini tarpaulin completes the cheerful image, the back window disappears.

That, too, suits me.

As an SUV, this design is disgraceful.

As a mobile catalog, this is not a bad marketing idea (Photo: Manufacturer's website)

Jeep D-Coder Concept

If the black-and-red wrestler looks to you like an improvement workshop catalog, you're not mistaken.

This is a unique JPP (Jeep Performance Parts by Mopar) vehicle and the 35 optional parts in it, painted in bright red. Just so you do not miss any options. Of all the ornate parts I would go for the minimalist tarpaulin roof, half open doors, hidden winch, and hoops. Take care of yourself.

Another variant that is not revolutionary - except for the removal of the windshield, which gives a clear gust of dust (Photo: manufacturer's website)

Birdcage Concept by JPP

Here's another JPP (Jeep Performance Parts by Mopar) display vehicle, based on the 4Xe hybrid. The vehicle is called the "bird cage" because it is finished in a massive rollover cage, without the front window. Their way to the MOPAR catalog, the bible of the Jeep improvers. Removing the front window allows bird lovers to breathe fresh air, not an easy operation with regular JL wranglers.

The FC Concept - one of the great days of really cool display vehicles (Photo: Manufacturer's website, Manufacturer)

As someone who has been following the Easter Jeep Safari showcases for many years, I must point out that the 2022 vintage is not one of the most exciting;

Some recycle previous ideas, others are incarnations that anyone who logs on to MOPAR's site can build for themselves but they are beautiful and cool, and they also have two of real value - the Magneto 2.0, and the electrified Grand Cherokee.

I was disappointed that Ford did not respond in any way to the incident, beyond the Ford Bronco Basecamp which is a kind of jeep camp, no proper answer.

Could it be that when the demand for a product is several times greater than the production capacity, you are less enthusiastic about the marketing department?

In the meantime, I would like to pack a Jeep '41 Concept, which suits me very well.
