The gold standard of 5-star crushing has become the automatic expectation from modern cars when it comes to the level of assurance that new cars provide us.

However, it turns out that not all the news manages to meet the rising threshold of euro NCAP crash tests.

The same thing happens this time around, when the revamped Honda HRV hybrid gets 4 stars, and the DS4 also gets 4 stars with a fifth star under an asterisk provided it is equipped with advanced safety systems.

Even in the current test, and even with a new model from which there are high expectations, Dacia fails to present a worthy result and is satisfied with a single star.

The new compact of the luxury brand of Stalantis DS, namely the DS4 has won tests for 4 crash stars.

She received a good score in terms of crash resistance as well as compliments for adding an active hood to reduce pedestrian damage and an airbag between the driver and passenger.

However the automatic braking system that relies on a camera only in the base version was not particularly impressive in the tests and therefore it only gets 4 stars.

At the same time, Euro NCAP notes that with its optional safety package that also adds to its radar, the performance in the field of advanced safety systems is improving, in which case its score will be 5 stars.

Honda's compact crossover, marketed in the current generation in a hybrid version only, is not sold in Israel, but competes in Europe with the Renault Capture, Peugeot 2008, Skoda Aniak and others.

In the crash tests he gets an average score of 4 stars, however within these scores euro NCAP indicates that he is not particularly impressed when it comes to protecting children in the back seat especially the restraint provided by the seat belt.

Nor was he as sturdy as was expected of him.

Among other things, percentages were lowered from his score due to the risk to the driver of a side injury when he was thrown aside from the seat.

When based on the Sandro, but offering a longer and more spacious chassis and even a seating arrangement for the 7, the Dacia Jogger continues a streak of very low scores that Renault-Nissan's low-cost brand gets in the crash tests.

Among the reasons for the low score are the lack of a seat belt reminder for those sitting in the third row.

But even apart from these, the advanced safety systems get a score of 39%, pedestrian protection 41% and also the protection of children (69%) or adults (70%) are already very far from being considered as those that can be obtained in a modern car.
