Hyundai's first dedicated electric car, wins an impressive trio of titles in the World Car of the Year competition.

The large and electrified hatchback-crossover managed to overcome a vote held among 102 car journalists from around the world on two other trams - the Kia EV6 which won the European Car of the Year title and also the Ford Mach



E. And the other on its exterior design.

Among the other contenders for the tram title, it overtakes two electric cars from major and well-established premium manufacturers - the Mercedes EQS and also the Audi e-tron GT.

Audi also qualified for the final stage of the design award along with the Kia EV6.

The winners in the other categories announced at the New York Auto Show include the Mercedes EQS which received the title of Luxury Car, where it competed against the BMW iX and Genesis GV70.



The Audi e-tron GT was announced as the performance car with a score that was higher than that of the BMW M3 / M4 and the pair of Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ.

The draft Yaris Cross that won the city car title outperformed the Opel Mokka and Volkswagen Tiguan.
