Actress Liz Sheridan, best known for her role as Helen Seinfeld, Jerry Seinfeld's mother in the comedy "Seinfeld," has died at the age of 93. Sheridan's PR woman told the American media that Sheridan died in her sleep at her New York home.
Liz Sheridan was born in New York to two musical parents.
She began her career as a dancer in musicals.
She later said that in the fifties she even met James Dean and they even got engaged and eventually separated.
Sheridan wrote a book about the affair between them, but Dean's friend expressed doubt about her claims.
In 1977 she first appeared on screen in a supporting role in the TV series "Cossack".
In the 1980s, Sheridan appeared many times as a supporting actress in various movies and TV series.
Her first significant role was to portray the nosy neighbor "Mrs. O'Connec" in the popular NBC comedy "Alef."
In 1990 she was cast as Helen Seinfeld, Jerry's mother in the comedy "Seinfeld".
