The major earthquake of the automotive industry in recent decades - that of electric propulsion - is accompanied by "sub-earthquakes" that may currently occur on the fringes of global industry and markets, but certainly not ones that can be ignored.

This is an opportunity identified by new and renewed Asian manufacturers to gain a foothold in the automotive market, with the transition to electric propulsion allowing them to skip two significant hurdles on the way to competing with older manufacturers - compliance with air pollution standards and investment in engines and gearboxes. .

Israel, as a price-sensitive market, which strives for different, flexible and small vehicle integrity is a milestone and an opportunity for these manufacturers to experiment with a Western market before wider entry into Europe.

We are used to seeing Chinese manufacturers stopping for a stopover in Israel, but now it is a very young manufacturer (founded in 2017) from Vietnam that also marked the Western markets as a destination and on the way there stops in Israel.

Behind the brand's import is B-EV Motors, whose founders and co-owners are Barak Cohen and Niv Oron, two very old key figures who come from the luxury worlds when they managed the BMW and Audi brands for years.

In the first phase, two models of the Winfast VF8 and its big brother the VF9 will arrive in Israel.

Both were designed by Pininfarina Workshop, the manufacturer claims to be equipped with a battery of advanced safety systems (but no official crash tests have been performed), remote control of smart home applications and even an online purchase.

Equally intriguing is the warranty package that the importer promises - 200,000 km or 10 years. Both models support fast charging of between 25 and 35 minutes from 10 to 70 percent.

The VF8 is a medium-sized crossover with 475 cm from end to end (the order of magnitude of the Sky5 ET5) and has 295 cm at the wheelbase depending on the version provided by its electric motors 348 or 402 hp, the performance is 5.8 or 5.3 seconds respectively and both do Use of a 90 kWh battery pack that according to the manufacturer's statements will carry the vehicle for a distance of between 445 km in the stronger version and 470 km in the weaker version.

The passenger compartment has a huge 15-inch multimedia screen, and in the equipped versions there is also an 8-inch screen for the second row seats, 19 or 20-inch rims, leather or imitation leather upholstery depending on the level of finish and more.

The larger model VF9 already extends to 512 cm and has a huge wheelbase of 315 cm.

It is designed for 6 or 7 passengers depending on the seating configuration in it.

And like the VF8 uses two electric motors with a combined power of 402 hp. Acceleration to 100 km / h takes 6.3 seconds and unlike the little brother, the battery here is significantly larger - 106 kWh which at least according to the manufacturer's statement will bring it to a range of more than -550 km.

All range data are in the accepted WLTP standard, but are based on estimates only.

By the way estimates, this is the only thing that can be said at the moment also about the price ranges of these cars.

Indeed, given the fact that these are the two large and well-equipped models of the manufacturer, given their dimensions and high suppliers relative to European, Japanese, Korean or Chinese competitors - chances are we will see them at the relatively popular prices of Chinese manufacturers like Skywell, Aiways and others we probably will not meet.

In the future, when these two are also joined by the manufacturer's smaller models like the VF5, VF6 and VF7 we may meet them in more competitive price environments for a new and unfamiliar brand.

Winfast's marketing is expected to begin soon and car delivery is not expected before the end of the year.
