New cars, fuel and electricity: Everything is becoming more expensive.
Hildegard Wortmann, Board Member for Sales at Volkswagen and Audi, sees a lasting development here.
Wolfsburg – Fuel is expensive, the electricity providers are also constantly turning the price screw for charging, the prices for new and used cars are rising, and insurance premiums anyway: driving a car costs more than ever.
And that will probably not change anymore - believes Hildegard Wortmann, Volkswagen board member for sales and member of the Audi board, as reported by 24auto.de.
Volkswagen board member Hildegard Wortmann: "Mobility is becoming more expensive"
"I do believe that mobility will become more expensive overall," said Wortmann in an interview with the news channel ntv: "We will see price increases in all areas there, as well as in everyday life".
The reason for this is inflation, and one has to contend with rising raw material costs.
The current development around the Ukraine war has now officially caught up with the costs for customers after production.
Because just a few months ago, VW boss Herbert Diess had predicted that driving a car would be significantly cheaper thanks to electromobility - and even hoped at a cost of just one euro per kilometer.

Volkswagen board member Hildegard Wortmann: "Incomprehensible war"
Basically, the automotive industry is in "the greatest transformation that this industry has ever seen," said the sales manager.
According to Wortmann, the last two years in particular have posed a major challenge with Corona, the chip crisis and the "unbelievable" war in Ukraine.
