Karma, founded in 2007 under the name "Fisker" was founded by Henrique Fisker, who after a career in BMW (the original X5 and Z8 were among his works) and a period in Aston Martin (where he left a mark with the DB9) - decided to leave For an independent way.

The company knew quite a few difficulties, until a Chinese company from the field of car spare parts was acquired, which changed the name of the company to "Karma".

The company currently has one car on offer in the GS-6 whose latest incarnation was introduced in 2021, however it is based on the very old Karma, in a refreshed and updated version.

Karma has a very dramatic and sporty design, and anyone who finds a resemblance between it and a Tesla Model S is not entirely wrong.

In a long, passionate and accusatory trial between Henrich Fisker and Eilon Musk, Fisker accused Tesla and Musk that the initial planning and design of the Model S was his and Tesla "stole" the car.

Unlike the Model S or any other Tesla for that matter the Karma GS-6 is not a fully electric car.

It has two electric motors that drive the rear wheels and can travel a distance of about 100 km with the power provided by its 28 kWh batteries.

After that, a 1.5-liter gasoline engine from BMW will go into operation and act as a "generator" that charges the batteries.

The car can also be charged with an electrical outlet or charging station.

According to the manufacturer's statement, its maximum range is 528 km until it is necessary to "load" the fuel tank. The

power is 536 hp, and the torque of 76.1 kg is enough to bring its 2,287 kg to 96 Km / h (60 miles) in 4.5 seconds according to reports from abroad, since the manufacturer itself does not publish the official acceleration figure.

In terms of size, it stretches to 506.5 cm and its wheelbase is 316 cm, so it is not a small car, the two closest and relevant rivals are the Porsche Panamera and Tesla Model S with 505 and 497 cm respectively, but both a lot At the rear at the wheelbase with 296 and 295 cm respectively.

Despite these dimensions, the rear has only two seats and the trunk volume is strangely tiny - only 182 liters.

Its passenger compartment has a steering wheel with touch pads for operating audio, phone, etc., connectivity to Apple and Android, various driving modes and control of regenerative braking, as in Tesla and other advanced cars. Its position at the bottom of the console seems less comfortable.

According to the records we have and the importer's statement, the Karma GS-6 will arrive in Israel in its two versions, the standard and the sports version that at least in the registration documents is called S.

In terms of performance and range, there is no difference between the two, but they differ in their equipment.

Among the differences that the versions record are 21-inch rims in the regular version and 22 in the sport, black piano finishes for the regular while the sport goes on panels with a carbon fiber look and more.

In the United States, the regular version starts at $ 83,900, while in Israel it will cost NIS 750,000.

The S version, which starts at $ 103,900 in the United States, was registered in Israel at a price of NIS 900,000.

These amounts are not very low and these are very ambitious numbers for an importer who intends to bring here a car that is not very well known from a manufacturer that currently has difficulty producing volume or convincing numbers in its other markets.

While in Israel it will have to face veteran, established and well-known competitors.

Whether these are excellent plug-in variants like the Porsche Panamera (about NIS 870,000) or very advanced ones like the Tesla Model S (about NIS 560,000) and the Audi e tron ​​GT which costs NIS 765,000.
